I don’t know about elsewhere, but here in Texas LEO’s take an oath to defend the Constitution and the Laws of Texas. I guarantee you that here, they take their oaths seriously.

Actually, Godwin’s Law, as originally stated by Godwin himself, made no judgment as to the soundness or unsoundness of the argument at hand. It was merely a statement of the statistical probability of the appearance/usage of the term Nazi. It has been hijacked, embellished and twisted by the Left to use as a rhetorical bludgeon to preclude or silence argument by claiming the mere mention of the term meant “you lose”. Godwin said no such thing.

What you’ve illustrated here has actually been done and codified in US law. The US Gun Control Act of 1968 is very similar to the Nazi Weapons Law of 1938. The late Senator Thomas Dodd of Connecticut was a JAG lawyer serving at the Nuremberg war crime trials after WW II. He took the text of the German law and used it as the template for the GCA ’68. One of the things that nearly everyone forgets is that the Nazis were socialist – translated, the name of the party was, “The National Socialist German Worker’s Party.” (Nazionalische Sozialishe Deutsche Arbeitspartei) As much as they despised the Communists, they were competitors with them, not their polar opposites. The idea that government could degenerate into something like this is not just scary, but petrifying, and is, I believe, the reason why there are organizations like Jews for the Preservation of Firearms Ownership, not to even mention the NRA. Socialists are no more free from being taken over by forces like Naziism than are any of the rest of us.
It wasn’t just ‘ the Jews’ whom disarmed, as though it were some kind of ethnic quirk. It was ALL Germans who were disarmed, under laws Hitler passed with the powers given to him by the Reichstag as Chancellor.
