What’s good for the gander is good for the goose. Or would that be what’s good to gander is good to goose?
Chris, we’ve been seeing Sam in Wade and you in Zed for a long time; good to see them in the flesh, I’m a big fan of all four of ya’ll; when do honorary guests get to mingle? Save me a couple six of those longnecks.
Heh.
The title for today’s strip made me laugh out loud.
“The vessel with the pestle
holds the potion with the poison.
The flagon with the dragon
Has the brew that is true.”
Big Danny Kaye fans here.
Don’t know if that was your intention, but I smiled nonetheless.
Very nice. A touch of A Bertram Chandler, Bugs Bunny and the always magnificent Sam, not to mention Hitchcock and Arthur Conan Doyle. Yeah, I can read anything into anything, but it keeps life interesting. Well done, sir.
His political leanings are private, unlike far too many celebrities. But considering the roles he’s chosen over the years, and the veterans’ gatherings he’s supported, at the very least he really loves the USA, which makes him not all that liberal…
I appreciate not knowing a given actor’s leanings.
And Sam appreciates you appreciating that, so he does his awesome thing in public, and keeps his private beliefs private. Would that many more “entertainers” would follow suit.
Betcha you didn’t know that in the movie Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, Sam Elliot played the gambler that accused Sundance of cheating at the start, and asked him how good he was. Believe it or not, that was him.. One of his very first appearances on screen.
I seem to be in the minority here, and I’ll (reluctantly) understand if you do not take my suggestion, but could the DD have a new “server” or perhaps a separate section for those of us more conservative types who prefer a C or even a B? Sometimes there is too much of a good thing and some of us do like them a little more petite. (No offense, Sam.)
I really wanted that from the start, like a ‘rating’ switch, but it just don’t work that way, I’m afraid-it would be another server entirely, and double the costs.
I’m with ya on the personal taste, but you’ve just shown that us darn supporters can bitch about green on grass.
Maybe Chris will give us a dream/nightmare sequence one day where all the buxom characters are dialed back a couple notches. Then again, some of us wouldn’t want to wake up from that.
Strictly from a structural support aspect regarding the staff uniforms, said support is sadly lacking which will cause droop to occur at an accelerated rate.
I would suggest you get a vote button for Top Web Comics on this site.
A higher ranking there would help recruiting and make the next drive that much easier.
And I know you would get far higher than you are now. Only a handful of fans vote there presently.

A very nice reward for all your supporters.
Guess Sam doesn’t quite have those steel pasties figured out yet.
Good for us. Boobehs and beers.
How’s that country song go…”I love this bar.”
I don’t know whether to drool or swoon over Sam Elliott…
Both would be appropriate.
Easy, girl.
“Look, but don’t touch.”

Learned a long while ago to mind my hands and where they were placed.
Mr. Elliott has been a favorite of mine since Once An Eagle.
We men folk aren’t too sensitive . about a lady’s roving hands.
Wonder if they’ve got Shiner Bock longnecks?
Buz,
*Wonder if they’ve got Shiner Bock longnecks?* Check here… http://www.shiner.com/beer
Shiner Bock is beer. Lone Star is OK, but… it’s for the guests you like but don’t want to stay forever, know whut I mean?
Shiner’s for the good company.
Alright, you made me laugh out loud. 🙂
Shiner Bock. Nice choice of beer.
Best,

It was.
🙂
Love that movie.
And Angela Landsbury was smokin’ back in the day.
She smoked in a different way when she anticipated Hillary! in “The Manchurian Candidate”.
formwiz,

Ok, had it a little backwards.
The flagon with the dragon was a later scene.
Anyways, great movie.
Greg,
*Ok, had it a little backwards.* No problem.

Like Sam I did not see that Sam coming. Sneaky!
Well played Chris, well played!!!

I wonder what has more attraction – Sam’s pasties for her jacket or Sam’s ‘Squeee’ for Sam…
BTW, shouldn’t there be a ‘Squeee’ in the topic ball at the bottom of the web page?
For some of us, it would be the Elliott…
Mr. Elliott is a man to make haste slowly with
Dave Allen Coe…
Titties and beer

I’m wondering whether Sam Elliot is even remotely conservative.
Actually I appreciate not knowing a given actor’s leanings.
His political leanings are private, unlike far too many celebrities. But considering the roles he’s chosen over the years, and the veterans’ gatherings he’s supported, at the very least he really loves the USA, which makes him not all that liberal…

Chris, have you ever met Sam E? Does he know that he plays a pivotal role in your scripts? I’m sure he would be honored.
Um, nope. I simply like his acting.
Betcha you didn’t know that in the movie Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, Sam Elliot played the gambler that accused Sundance of cheating at the start, and asked him how good he was. Believe it or not, that was him.. One of his very first appearances on screen.
He married an actress from that film, I think.
Katherine Ross.

Alas, you are still overdressing the DD staff…
Ok, I laughed out loud on that…

Fortunately for Sam – and us – gravity has very little impact on digital ink.
AGREED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Will we be able to make donations later in the year? I get back from overseas in a month or so.
Don
There usually is a Paypal button tucked away somewhere, but I don’t like to stress it much-it is vital that DBD raise funds only once a year.

Careful, Chris… too much testosterone in one place can be dangerous…
