I think that’s a ’70 and it looks original in which case that is probably Alpine White. There were a couple reds available, Rallye Red which was more of a crimson, and Tors Red which was more red but not really what you could call Candy Apple. Appropriate to the psychedelic era (but never my thing), were things like In Violet, Lemon Twist, Vitamin C Orange, and Limelight.
I turned 16 in ’70 and while I was mostly in love with the SS Chevys, I think my favorite ‘Cuda and the one I remember most probably because a local rich kid in my class got a brand new one for his sixteenth birthday…was a Jamaica blue hardtop with white racing stripes and matching white interior and the hot 340 that matched the hemi in the quarter.
Lust, thy name was ‘Cuda. Of course when you’re sixteen lust has lots of names. My fave was/is Fran, the hot little mini-skirted blonde Georgia transfer student who was my prom date that year, my preggie wife a year later…and still the love of my life forty five years after that.

A school buddy of mine had the 70 Cuda convertible in Lemon Twist with the 340 in it. Small blocks work juuuust fine.
Most of these paints were used on other Plymouths, and Dodges and Chryslers as well, but the names were often different. When in doubt, go by the paint code number.

We old salts have a phrase in our lexicon: “walk back handsomely”, usually referring to wildcats (part of the line-handling tackle which applies brakes to slow down the pay-out of lines and/or anchor chains). You don’t want to snub the pay-out completely (which can result in damaged gear and, sometimes, dead sailors)—you just want to apply a modicum of control to prevent the over-run and–in the case of anchor chains–will rip the bitter end right out of the chain locker bulkhead (again, broken gear and severely-damaged sailors). Substitute “hasty pronouncements” for “lines and chains”, and the possibility of “walking back” becomes a more-desirable action than executing either a (futile) retraction or a sudden about-face, don’t you know! : )

There has been an over-use of that term lately, and yes you can call them weasel words, but in a bit of a different context.
The mediots (weasels) love to use it when it becomes necessary for people smarter than them (Trump people, NRA people, Deplorable people) to have to break down, simplify, expound, and explain what they have said previously.
You would think that people whose job description is dealing with words and meanings would not need to have grade school definitions of grown-up words and policies spoon-fed to them (I mean English is the first language of American media is it not, at least most of them?).
But trying to help them out with what should be obvious intent is just gleefully used by them as evidence of taking back -or walking back- what was said even when it is nothing of the kind, rather just a re-stating in simpler terms for simpler minds to absorb.
So anything that is said that is something or by someone who doesn’t fit their prepared narrative that attempts to clarify is seized upon by the weasels to do what weasels do. And as so often happens, a perfectly functional word or term is twisted to fit the narrative and ruined for the general lexicon.
Yeah I think I would like weasel hunting too, Kafiroon. We don’t have them here but it sounds like great sport; a bit of a challenge and performing a service for the overall environment by thinning them out.
