It reminds me of changing the old gear oil in the rear end differential of a project car of mine. Had to throw those clothes away because it smelled so bad.

Washed work clothes stained with old gear oil right before Mom did a load of sheets and pillow cases. I think Mom gave up on trying to get the smell out of the sheets and pillow cases and turned them into shop rags.

I can’t get the stains out of my Carhart Tees. Gun oil, lunch, most anything stains permanently. Good thing I’m not fashion conscious.
Take a 5 gallon bucket, add 1 cup OXI and 1 cup dawn then add hot water to disolve, stir with stainless steel spoon, add items and fill to brim. Stir and soak overnight. Dump and rinse, check staining, should be better and wash. Or you can consign them to the rag bag.

I know this is picky, but our beloved Wayne LaPierre is Executive vice President, not President. Allan Cars is President, which is a limited term position. Wayne is a guy I trust with my vote and my political contributions!
Actually, Wayne is indeed Executive Vice President, which is the high-paid CEO position. Alan Cors was President, but his 2-year term was up in Atlanta last weekend, and Pete Brownell is now President of the Board of Directors.
My dad was in line for that position back in 1997, but got in an argument with Wayne over money – the way they solicit it and the way they spend it – and Wayne’s folks brought in Chuck Heston to bump Dad out of the vice presidency. Painted Dad as some sort of radical extremist in the process. I’m not a fan of Wayne.

Thanks for your dad’s efforts, I have a love/hate thing going with the NRA, and remain an annual member so I can withhold funding and tell them why when they call. Not that it does any good, but the feedback is recorded. Their lack of action on behalf of Katrina survivors cost them a couple years.
FFL for near forty years, NRA for the past nine, other than a short stretch early on. Never liked the constant pursuit of money which sometimes seemed very church-like and political.
But. Their activity during the great endarkenment and especially during this potus campaign buys them a lot of slack in my book. In a very real way, it is they (read us) who brung Trump to the dance. So far it’s been a good date, if not perfect. We shall see what the next few years brings on other important issues, but as to 2A? Rock solid I think, and that has importance and implications WAY beyond your daddy’s shotgun and deer rifle.

You’d think an “active shooter” policy and protocol would be a given in a major military installation, wouldn’t you?
Situational awareness and ability to defend from active threat is something every able-bodied citizen who chooses to should be at least basically trained in.
As for Trump, at this point that task is handled for him, though I don’t doubt that he has some abilities in that regard. To look at his sons’ interests and activities it is obvious where their convictions and loyalties lie.
What DT has done as a sitting President, for the first time since Reagan, is actively and openly support those rights for all free Americans, just as they supported him to be where he is, doing what he is.
Maybe not, but I love how Chris pens ‘Toly’s actions and words — sometimes there is great depth and understanding, and sometimes there is an “out of the mouth of babes” vibe. I think Anatoly is my favorite male character in the strip, just a hair ahead of Damon and Zed.
My least favorite characters? All the toadies and slime that Chris chooses to shine a light on… plenty of those types around, eh?

Dawn dish detergent is a great degreaser. So is Goop, which my cat groomer uses to degrease the cats’ coats before the wash.
Gun oil is similar to machine oil – don’t really want it all over you, period. Interferes with the enjoyment of a fine wine and cheese.
