The Canadians have declared the word Eskimo offensive, resulting in confusion and mislabeling of ethnic groups. In Alaska they are less fastidious, and the term is in common parlance.
Depending on who you talk to, Eskimo is used or reviled. Supposedly, the Inuit and Dené don’t use it but other tribes do so whatever.
Like most of these words earmarked for outrage, the politically correct asshats who pretend outrage do so for tactical reasons. Those directly impacted usually could not care less.

You and me both. I’ve reluctantly come to believe that Skye is being honest in choosing to change.
But she only changed because she endured abunch crap and said “This sucks! I’m not taking it anymore.”
All lives have suckage. When new-Skye’s life sees some serious excrement hit the rotating blades, when it isn’t easy being her new self, then we’ll see.
Interestingly, it will be the “#woke” crowd that is hardest hit. After all, they’re the ones who sing the praises of anything and everything “Eastern”, “mystical”, and “primitive” over everything “Western” and “materialistic” and therefore “evil”.
So they can forget their white-girl cornrows and their “Asian” restaurants. Not to mention their hijabs. And of course they’ll have to give up peyote and even artisanal beer.
And cappuccino, naturally, as coffee came to Europe from East Africa by way of the Ottoman Empire. Bye-bye Starbucks.
As for the reverse, the Third World can give back penicillin, the Salk vaccine, quinine, the airplane (no more “national airlines”), nuclear power, and electricity generally. And oh yes, they can say goodbye to flush toilets, as well.
There is a bright side from their POV, sort of. Without the Mauser Kar98 and the Avtomat Kalashnikov Obrazets 1947g, they ‘ll have to relearn the correct techniques of the sjambok, the knobkerrie, the longbow and the spear if they want to continue killing each other as their various tribalist cultures demand. They can keep black powder, though, since it was a Chinese invention (about mid-10th Century AD, by all indications). Plus the guillotine, as it is apparently also Ottoman in origin.

True. They can’t even use the telegraph or landline phone; both American inventions.

Binary language; Automatic looms, France, early 1700s. (Paper “roll” and wooden “pegs”.)

Fun fact; Turing’s computer, Colossus, was designed to reconstruct the plug-wire system of the rotors in the German Enigma cipher machine. In other words, the Ultra operation was in reality a battle between two computers.

After my Dad retired from the Navy he told us about a day of crossed lines. He punched a 4 digit code into the Autovon expecting to talk to someone on the other end about some upcoming naval training exercises. The person on the other end asked “who is this and how did you get this number”. Dad identified himself and was told to hold on. A few minutes later the person on the other end identified himself since he had checked Dad out and found he had the necessary clearances. Seems there was an issue of “crossed lines” and Dad’s call ended up in the basement of the WH in the office of Spooks R US. 30 minutes later that number finally went to the correct department. Ain’t technology grand. Unless mice get into the wiring.

I suppose they’re assuming they’ll get a pass because they care so much. After all, Gore, DiCaprio, Musk, Steyr, et al. preach the evils of our enormous carbon footprints while living comfortably in estates that would make Louis XIV blush and flitting about in yachts and the finest airframes that Gulfstream can provide.
IIRC, beer was first deliberately produced in Egypt. At the time, Egypt was pretty much the center of what became “western” culture. Yeah, the Greeks had something to do with it too. But they were winos.
The Sumerians produced beer about the same time, the Chinese a bit later. But I believe the Olmecs in South America beat everybody else, so it’s off limits to the “#woke”.

My ancestor helped Wilbur and Orville design and build the air cooled engine they used at Kitty Hawk. He was a hydraulics, cooling, transportation, and inventor whiz. My Great Aunt remembered them coming around to visit often, and once they both stayed about two weeks while working with him every day on the engine. My ancestor built cars and trucks before Ford, and even had a US Postal contract, as well as many patents.
So I get to fly and drive. Walk, all of you cultural appropriators.
If it comes to genocidal attacks and slaving attacks against us, that also was tried with some success against us. We are still here and wiped out a good proportion of those who tried. The urge to retaliate massively still resides within. Survival rules will kick in. That is when we let God sort the enemy out.
We all have so much in our own cultural derivation and history. And we can use any that exist as we are human. They won’t like us when we use some of our human culture against them. Beware.

Keep losing dems. Maybe someday, you’ll get the message.
Down here in Auburn we have a Tex-Mex place called “Tuco’s”, they have a Taco Tuesday and play scenes from “The Good, The Bad and The Ugly” in the bathrooms. It’s not uncommon for a group of guys to be watching the pistol scene together.
The cultural Injuns (lately AKA: Native Americans) ALMOST put men on the moon, ALMOST invented X-ray, CAT-scan, MRI machines, blood transfusions. And they were on the brink of E=M(C-squared).

A few days ago the NYT said this race had motivated Democrats nationwide (see $oro$ above) and that even Trump’s rich pastel polo crowd in north Atlanta was concerned. This is presumably a different crowd of deplorables than the poor dumb schmucks who slapped down the beast in November.
I haven’t been a reader long enough to know about Skye’s time in Seattle. It catches my eye. I’m a native; born in 1954, raised in working-class Rainier Valley, a graduate of the University of Washington. We produced Democrats like Scoop Jackson, but unfortunately also milk toast Republicans like Dan Evans. This used to be a gritty place; people worked in fishing, timber, and manufacturing (my late father was a machinist at Boeing for 40 years) Just go to the Filson flagship store downtown and look at their display of well-worn work clothes. Boy, has this changed. That metrosexual millennial at Starbucks rings all too true here. The politics and the culture of this place are unrecognizable to me. Thank goodness it’s still a place of unparalleled beauty, in this man’s opinion.
This low-tech lone wolf shit gets going here it is important more than ever to be ever vigilant and aware of one’s situation and surroundings. I’m a big believer, even been accused of being a preacher, of staying away from and and/or removing oneself from threats. I’ll alter that for instances like this where the answer is immediate deadly respons; shouldn’t take too many of those before these POS’s decide to stay in disarmed locations to do their dirty deeds.
Maybe they already are aware of the percentage of armed civvies in most American places, I would note that this attack while done against a presumably armed cop, was done in a place where no one else can be armed for response.
There is the problem in cultural appropriation where some cultures really CAN”T USE the other culture. It becomes dangerous to cross cultural users.
Be aware. They are out there. Though not as dangerous as the ones JTC is warning you about. In those cases always be aware of and plan that you means of response is available for immediate use. If access to your weapon or defense means is blocked by carrying an object in your access hand, that is at least one or two moves delaying your response to a deadly threat.
This is not a deadly threat portrayed here. This is simply the danger of misappropriation, and the danger of non scientific magic. https://youtu.be/CewqB-N4gAI
Once you recognize that “multiculturalism”–which chief aim is racial “diversity”–is racist to its core, “culture studies,” &c., can be seen for what they are: indoctrination.
And once you recognize that ‘racism’ is the most primitive form of collectivism , you’ll grasp that by “equality” much of the (New) Left professoriate mean “tribal identity,” that is, the individual is essentially erased save for his tribal identity.
(The other half of that equation, “feminist (i.e., women’s) studies”–which chief aim is to render everyone’s sex identical (mix & match, it’s all the same anyway; womyn are just men with a vagina; girly-boys, females with a penis; yada, yada, depending on how one *feels*)–is undilluted Puritanism. The Ideal is a primitive tribal society in which the only difference between men and women is the latter’s capacity to breed, this capacity making for the matriachial hierarchy of the tribe–& I assure you, such “society with be steeped in Puritanism, the most repressed form of collectivism.)
Let me put all this another way by quoting the philosopher who rules today’s culture, having usurped it from Aristotle, and from whom these…creatures got the idea, consciously or not (mainly not, as–if you’ll note–these so called ideas are stalled at the perceptual (rather than conceptual) form of consciousness):
“The best ordered state will be one in which the largest number of persons … most nearly resembles a single person. The first and highest form of the State … is a condition in which the private and the individual is altogether banished from life, and things which are by nature private, such as eyes and ears and hands, have become common, and in some way see and hear and act in common, and all men express praise and blame and feel joy and sorrow on the same occasion, and whatever laws there are unite the city to the utmost …” (Plato’s _Republic_ & _Laws_ c. 370 BCE)
Pragmatism is the “act first, think after” (if at all) philosophy of Pierce, James & Dewey (see public ed for Dewey’s influence–how’s pragmatism working out for us there?).
“The true is only the expedient in a way of our thinking….and “the right is only the expedient in a way of our behaving.” (James).
And that applies to the GOP as a whole, with rare exception. So, your choice today–politically–is between the pragamatists (GOP) and the Idealists (Dems).
See above for the Idealist spokesman, Plato.
Choose: Arsenic or .357.
What we need are leaders that are realists, i.e., those to whom 1) reality is an absolute; 2) reason is the means for understqanding it; 3) to whom each individual’s life is sacred; and 4) thru rights is kept sacred–NO EFFING TRESSPASSING; PRIVATE PROPERTY.
But we won’t get such leaders until *we* stop believing we can achieve freedom & prosperity by means of expediency or delusions.
Hmm. Dependence on “leaders” to achieve freedom & prosperity is antithetical, and that they are personally responsible for themselves…that’s actually the primary tenet of what freedom is.
Trump is the effect, not the cause, of the deplorable cascade.
Nobody is going to lead us out of this fine mess. We have to fight our way out. That’s pragmatism.
“*individuals* are personally responsible for themselves…”
For want of an edit function. :[

370 BCE)

PPS. For those who praise Trump’s “pragmatism.”

That might be a good anti-anti-fas / special snowflake / Libtard retort when someone comes at you about “cultural appropriation”; “So, you’re a racist, are you?”, which should seize some Leftists minds.
