You have to not just vote them out individually, though. They will have to be tossed in bulk – all three branches, from the President to the lowliest bureaucrat. And that requires a return to an attitude of self-sufficiency and belief in the ideals of our Founding Fathers among the electorate at large. A return that I have a hard time seeing happening.

Why is Trump taking a vacation? Now is the time for a shootout.
Use recess appointments to fill any vacancies that Trump has submitted nominations that the Senate hasn’t had time to approve. If the Democrats are determined to hamper Trump by “slow walking” consent, Trump has a Constitutional response: recess appointments.
Fire government employee resistance members. I think a Facebook statement, “Resist Donald Trump” or the like should be sufficient grounds for firing, even for permanent employees. Recess appoint replacements.

note that they approved 78 appointments on their last day of work (more than they had done since the election). Trump needs to take the next couple of weeks and setup the next big batch of appointments and get them to the Senate so they are hanging over their heads along with their other work when they get back.

As I recall, SCOTUS said the Senate decided when it was in recess. The President (big zero) couldn’t decide the Senate was in recess (over the weekend) and make recess appointments.
McConnel has declared the Senate in recess, clearing the path for Trump to make recess appointments. To prevent Obama from making recess appointments, the Senate held pro forma meetings during what normally would have been recesses.
Trump is free and clear to make recess appointments; not to say that some Seattle judge may try to override him.

Trump is not going to be in DC, that doesn’t mean he isn’t going to be working.
I seriously doubt that he is going to take what most people would consider a “vacation” for the next several years. He’s too much of a work-a-holic for that. With Congress out of session, he doesn’t have a big need to be in DC, the White House needs some repairs, so he will be working elsewhere for a couple of weeks.

If they were not in this contrived session, the President could name all of the temporary appointments he desired. ‘Permanent’ appointments require the vote of the Senate.
The Senate required no objections to do this.
‘Who is on the side of the American people?’ is a good question.
I believe Obama just tried to appoint someone during a pro forma session. That may be why the US Supreme Court smacked it down.
Congress is still officially working, not in recess. Specifically to stop appointments.

I can see the next Civil War (The American Revolution 1.1) starting in New York where they have confiscated 34,500 the weapons of legal gun owners, and the Idiot Governor said that he will fight if Congress passes Constitutional Carry.
I wonder if that was originally part of the second amendment and we are only seeing an abridged version.

I’m not sure of the percentage of civil servants that would be terminated for not doing their jobs or for watching porn during working hours ~ which in the private sector would get them fired immediately ~ but the houses of Government need a cleaning just as a rank outhouse needs clearing out.

The only way to clean up the Civil Service is to contract their jobs out. The whole country would be better served if the only civil servants were those whose job was to draw up and enforce those contracts. That leaves private enterprise to streamline services, whatever they might be, and puts a premium on requiring Government to actually draw up well defined enforceable law.
The Deep State would find very little wiggle room in such an environment.
Fat chance of this happening though.

Contracting out hasn’t worked well. Cost more than government employees . After first contracted period. Plus, they leave, with institutional knowledge. Repair tanks, artillery, etc. No contractor since WWII has completed a towed artillery contract. Civil servants at Rock Island Arsenal had to complete the contract. One example.
