I wonder if what is meant is shoot the PS90.
The PS is the semi auto only version of the FN P90 that was used in the TV show Stargate SG1.

When you have a brand-new, unfired weapon, after cleaning, checking and etc., the next step is to run a few boxes of cartridges through it, about 200 rounds for a handgun or 500 for a self-loading rifle (or PDW). This gets the working parts operating correctly by literally wearing away burrs, etc., left over from the machining processes of manufacture.
This procedure is known as “shooting in” the weapon.
She can easily handle the job on the PS90 due to its low recoil impulse and relatively light weight. Besides, it’s fun, too.
Start her off stuffing those 50 rd mags, that’ll keep her occupied for a while.

Bob in Houston-Vast Right Wing Basket of deplorable!
This is not the most fun task as Chris can attest, its a 50 round mag and the process involves the round actually rotating from vertical to horizontal, all in all, its a hoot of little gun and ultra packable, you can
get the rifle to fit in the standard Pelican 1490 briefcase if you break it down to its two main parts which only requires the press of a single “button”, you can get it in the briefcase and chunk in about 8-10 50 round mags if you stack em right.
I figured she was wanting to shoot the PS90, not shoot IN the same. Just a bit young for full formatting of a thought.

I was thinking along the same lines, but perhaps she has just heard “let’s go shoot’n” so many times that the “shoot in” is just her anti contraction interpretation.
Eon came up with a pedantic explanation that covered the bases, but it’s hard to imagine that Zed would have a PS90, that hadn’t been fired, that the daughter would be thinking of needing it.

It’s not hard to imagine that Zed went out and bought another gun. In fact that’s probably a monthly occurrence. I wonder who runs the gun store down there. He/she’s got to be good friends with the folks at DD.
Low recoil, but 5.7X28 replaced the 9 for nato. Smaller, hotter, flatter, crosses over with the MG and Five Seven sidearm. Spendy compared to 9, kid better get a job.

Ammo only spendy if you are buying the actual FN branded stuff and even that has come down alot in the last few years, the American Eagle brand stuff can be had for about 14 bucks per 50 here in Houston and I’ve seen the FN stuff on occasion for right around 20 per 50 at Palmetto State Armory.
Actually 500 rd of FN for .18 per w/free ship at PSA right now…cheaper than their Federal, weird.
Not too bad but I was actually answering JackDeth comparing to 9mm which got so cheap we were calling it the new .22, about .12 rd for the cheap stuff last I looked. And since we’re talking about PDW’s that price advantage applies to 5.56 too, around .15 rd by the case.
And there is an even more important advantage to those old-gen NATO calibers, namely ubiquity. Any place that stocks any ammo at all will have those whereas the 5.7 would be a lot rarer find should you find yourself running out in Mayberry. In which case old school beats new cool hands down.
PS90 is Public School 90 at 220 W 148th St in Central Harlem NYC. She wants to play hoops in the gym.

The following tale was told to me by a friend – I cannot and will not vouch for the truthfulness.
Scene: A young man has come over to the house to pick up my post-high school aged daughter for a dinner date. Being as my daughter takes after her mom, she’s not ready, so the young man comes into my den to make his manners.
Did I mention that I happened to be in the middle of cleaning my new Benelli Performance Shop Ultra Light Upland 20-gauge? Must of looked like “daddy with a shotgun.”
If you’re thinking that the young man in question would be a bit intimidated, you’d be wrong. He introduced himself to me and asked “Is that the new Benelli?”
We started talking guns. While my daughter is no longer particularly enamored with the young man, I got a new shooting buddy. And that, friends is what you might call a win-win!

Reminds me of a Master Sgt I worked for in the Air Force. He had a beautiful teenaged daughter – who had a curfew. His solution (those of us who once we’re teenaged boys KNOW the problem 😉 ) was to get a double barreled 12 gau, paint it international orange and display it on the coffee table. Any new boys were required to wait inside until daughter came out. The 12 gau was never mentioned. Never had a problem with her getting home late. Imagine that.

As it was put to me by a friend who had a son as I had a daughter: he only had to worry about one penis, I had to worry about them all. My solution was to insist that the young man who was picking up my special snowflake got to sit in my gun room and admire the shooting trophies. I’d regale them with stories of head shooting prairie dogs at 600 yards with a 22-250. Never had a problem with curfew except this one kid until I showed him a shovel and an aerial shot of all the land that needed planting.

AH! That answers my misunderstanding of her phrasing. Good point.
Haven’t seen Travis (the BBQ King) in awhile?
What happened to him?
Can you bring him back, even for just a short shot?
Last I saw…I think he was playing for the Dodgers. Hit a game-winning home run the other night!
Oh, Awwwchieee…

Yep that’s why Zed should have her load her own, which he probably does. Shooting is the fun part but tanstaafl!
As for toting the PS90, check out GB for a whole assortment of violin cases for it…high tech and old tech worlds collide!

Yes, I think her sweet childlike tense of the phrase is much more likely than her concern as the family armorer…but in that family you never know. 🙂
Zed. Zed. Zed.
You’re a Dad. Don’t ever change.
May want to consider digging a moat to protect your twin girls.
Though, I’m sure the PS 90 could come in a pretty pink for Kiko. Low recoil 9mm is just right for kids.
If you don’t think of it. Sam will.

Umm,yeah…that would be .36 for the FN 7.2 and .25 for the 5.56. I can add, really I can, appearances notwithstanding.
5.7 not 7.2…I need a nap.
