Yup. In my part of Canada, in south Alberta, quite a few folk have bought into the idea that Donald Trump is a dumb loudmouth!
They have a lot of trouble with the idea of stopping repeating the same ‘solution’, over, and over: STOP “rewarding troublemaking in the Middle East by paying off the loudest mouths”.
When I point out that President Trump, a New Yorker, saw the videos of folk dancing in the streets of the Middle East, after hearing the news about 9-11, and also pointed-out that he sees a reminder of the attacks every time he sees the missing Twin Towers’ old Site, they do not understand that President Trump has very good reasons for trying a different way, from the old way of rewarding bad behavior…

I saw the live TV report when Donald declared that the USA was recognizing Jerusalem as the Capital of Israel.
I also downloaded the Transcript of his speech, to make sure I had missremembered naught. The simple idea, that everyone can worship in their own way, without blocking anyone else, was one of the features of the Speech.
And I remembered Tanzania, in October, 1986, when our Crew was working on a Seismic Job, about 50 miles south of Dar-es-Salaam, where the two wheel-track trails wound past a Church here, and past a Mosque 4, or 5 miles further on = both buildings in good shape, neither building having a high fence, neither building having armed guards. The farmers work their fields with no problems, meet in the afternoon at the local little store for beer, or orange pop, or coffee, and chat together, all farmers, no sorting by religion. My Swahili to English to Swahili translator, trained at a Christian school, would only say that the farmers at the store, and the farmers we had hired, were shouting jokes back and forth, when we drove slowly by (to avoid raising dust). He would not repeat the jokes in English, which is why this south Alberta farm boy knew the jokes were very good ones. Grin.

The courts are currently very inadequate for holding the state (Deep or not) to account. Much too many are still beholden to something other than our Constitution and Natural and Common Law.
The people will have to stop expecting others to do their work for them, and apply accountability for ourselves.
Which is why teams should be assembled to run something along the lines of Arkancide. 😉

I agree. I just have no idea how one might go about doing it. Remember the deep state is composed of unelected and unappointed civil servants (but how many of them have you ever met who were either 😉 ) who are not merely accountable to no one but protected by both a powerful union AND endless layers of regulations designed to make it well nigh impossible to dislodge them. If memory serves, it was the bureaucrats (Mandarins?) who were the real power in the Empire of China.
Presidents, Kings and Emperors come and go but the bureaucracy continues world without end.

I have worked in and for the federal government. There are lots of people in the trenches who really do work and want their work to help people. Unfortunately, partly because of unions and partly because of laws and regulations to try to take patronage out of civil service jobs, it is often easier to keep the duds with some sort of job rather than to actually fire them. It’s the upper echelons–political appointees or top GS and senior executive service–that deflect the earnest desires of the workers to do the right thing in the right way.
And I also think it was the mandarins in imperial China who wielded the real power in the last dynasty or two.

I like the way Yurtle the Turtle is in the Oval Office. And the hearkening to 1776 and the Declaration except this time its not to a King but to the machinery of government. The Don said “hold your friends close but your enemies closer.” Yurtle the Turtle may wake up to see that the time of the Great Machine maybe over. It’s going to take more than 4 years to disassemble some of the hidden gears and levers of power but if who comes after continues the process we may give our prosperity a base to thrive from. If not then it may only be the 4th box for the final reconciliation.
