There used to be a radio program…I want to say Benny hill or Bob Hope, something like that…the butler’s name was Rochester I think, he had a gravely voice. Used to listen to it when I was a kid. There was a radio station that you could only get a night, it was out of Reno I think (about 300 mi from me, other side of the Sierra Nevada), that had all the old radio programs, Gunsmoke, Green Lantern, etc.
The Jack Benny Show! I used to listen to the old radio shows on tape while on long drives. Much better entertainment then bad music.

The old Jack Benny radio shows are aired several times a week on Sirius/XM. Still funny as all get out, and no politics, other than the obvious references to FDR or Truman, and all for fun. And to think I’m old enough to have heard some of them live!

Jack Benny. Radio, TV and movies. Johnny Carson copied Benny’s timing and takes.

George Carlin was such an admirer of Benny that one night, on the “Tonight Show”, Carlin came out for his set, and for two minutes, said nothing. A couple of facial expressions, but no words. By the end, the audience (and Carson) we’re laughing so hard they had to cut to commercial. When Carson asked Carlin about it, Carlin’s reply was, “I’ve always wanted to try that. Jack Benny was one of my heroes, and Benny could get a laugh from people doing that on the RADIO.”

JB – This glue doesn’t seem to be sticking. Oh, Rochester!
R – Yes, boss?
JB – This glue doesn’t seem to be sticking; are you sure it’s fresh?
R – Fresh? Why, just this morning it was 25-to-1 at Santa Anita!

Jack Benny, Benny Hill chose the name Benny to honor Jack.
The “Gentleman’s Gentleman” from the Magnum PI series was called Jonathan Quayle Higgins III… brilliantly played by John Hillerman, born & raised in Texas. For some reason, Jeeves and his protests remind me of Higgins.
Speaking of which, Hillerman passed away in Nov 2017 at the age of 84. RIP…
An excellent actor doing a great job as “Robin Masters” gentleman on Magnum PI. And then the story arc where Magnum thought that Higgins was Robin Masters. Jeeves there could take some notes by downloading that show as well as Rochester’s performances on The Jack Benny Show, even if only programed to acquire the humor aspect.
Fun fact: early during WWII, Anderson bought a warehouse in the Central Avenue district of Los Angeles and started the Pacific Parachute Company, which made parachutes for the U.S. Navy.
I think that might be Skye.
She does chameleon into looking like Sam regularly in her life, and with her efficient tattoo removal, with hair shades hard to tell in the dark, the songbird will look very much like Sam.
In that household, I have to wonder if “Kill Switch” actually authorizes… (You know how they want to keep a human involved in the decision loop on sentry robots.)

Maybe they should rename Jeeves to Rodney, as he didn’t get no respect either….. 🙂

Merle, you got that right.

why do I keep hearing the robot with Marvin’s voice from “the hitchhiker’s guide”?
“I’m not getting you down at all, am I?”
No, I don’t hear the whine, personally. More like the little weird baby-adult on Family Guy, Stewie.
The actor who played Rochester won the part when, still in the waiting room, Benny called out “Oh, Rochester” and he answered “Yes Please”

Wayne M, concur on Higgins. Did you see “Rogue One?” Jeeves also reminds me of the droid in that movie.
Wait a minute…Sam singing? I thought Skye was their songbird…maybe a duet?
That could be interesting.

Methinks they’ve created their own little C3PO
