Dudes. Y’all have a different reaction than me to looking straight down the barrel of that big bore auto. Go ahead, look again at Naomi, or try to, and tell me that having your eye drawn to that muzzle doesn’t give you fucking chills.
After having the Four Rules pounded into your head for half of a forty year career of buyin’sellin’tradin’loanin’ thousands of guns, and spending the second half pounding them into the heads of others, I have kind of a guttural reaction to looking down the violence end, which screams to me Rule 1)!!! All guns are always loaded!!! Real guns. Toy guns. Especially unloaded guns; those mofo’s will kill you quick. People in my stores, customer or employee alike, point or sweep that muzzle over me or anybody else? One stern warning, next time you’re out.
Anyway that has had an extended effect on me, call it illogical which it is but true nonetheless, that as I said above, even the protections of the vast fourth wall of this and other media are insufficient to avoid seeing your hot, lovely, terrifying killer chick bearing down on my face with that thing having a very distinct gut and butt clenching effect on me. Certainly that’s the effect it’s having on our FIB’er there; but way out here? A little deranged for somebody looking at a screen right? Maybe.
Whatever. I will continue avoiding looking straight into the business end of tools I have bought, sold, traded, and seen closeup effects of for so many years…including flat depictions, irrational though that may be. It’s just a thing.
Because I am JJC I have always enjoyed reading your communications. Today’s was a revelation. I have been a gun lover and NRA member since moving to the mountains of NorthGeorgia and as a gun club member I have had that rule pounded into my head from day one. If more people learned the proper way to be a gun owner, life would be so much easier.
Aaaah. With Mossad, a consummation devoutly to be wished. Maybe some of these citizens can award this self-styled paladin with a free visit to western Mexico. Maybe with the assistance of the Don. A dotted line around the neck with his badge stuck through the skin would be an interesting message, but a head in a bag would be enough.
Ya know, when the head is in a bag, free speech kinda becomes problematic. But the message is still there and understood. Of course, I think this is a common message in Mexico.
I was about to speculated that his advanced psych-eval skills could lead him to call her bluff knowing her maternal instincts could override her learned commando reactions…
Then I thought, this bozo? That came back around several times with seriously bad outcomes -but so far not lethal- for him? Not smart, more like suicidal.
Can’t wait to find out exactly what was his plan of action here?
JJC, maternal instinct is God-given while reflexive reactions are learned; who is to say which is correct in a particular situation? I have seen the power of the former and it is awesome.
But this FIB’er ain’t smart enough to parse any of that; he is likely shitting himself right now. He’s either in love with one of the girls, or with Zed, or Jeeves…or he might have a sick deathwish.
Or like someone else suggested, maybe he’s coming in from the cold, switching sides. Careful though, I don’t trust this thug.

Bless her heart, she aims with both eyes open! Maybe a bit much finger through the trigger guard, but no doubt that’s how she trained, so let’s see how this plays out….
There used to be a TV variety show on with three sisters. The two oldest sang and even sang together, as I recall.
The show was Barbara Mandrell and the Mandrell sisters.
Geez, I’m such an antique. I got through your first phrase and immediately thought, “The Andrews Sisters.” Plus, all three of THEM sang.

Then Danny Kaye and Bing Crosby sung “Sisters” in White Christmas.
Here are the girls singing “Sisters” in the same film. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PG7x8HWbDzU
Rosemary Clooney and Vera-Ellen were the Haynes sisters.
I watched the old movies on TV.

Except if memory serves, Vera-Ellen didn’t sing, so her voice was dubbed. She was a dancer. Whereas Rosemary Clooney was a singer, but not so much a dancer, and if you watch closely on some of the numbers, you can tell this…

To paraphrase, “Sisters sing peacefully on the stage at night only because rough protectors stand ready to do violence on their behalf”.
And that includes Zed, Naomi, Travis, The Dogs, Tabasco, R100 and R200.
Problem is this is an arrogant, too used to power, self important cog who has spent far too many years doing what he wants-slash-is told with no repercussions. Can’t really see him going quietly, and there’s a lotta ‘collateral damage’ possible here.
Frankly, he’s overdue for some collateral damage. A friend of mine used to say, “Some people never see the light until it shines through the bullet holes,” and I think we’ve established our bald FBI guy is one of them.
Seems her left eye is dominant… but hard to say for sure. From the perspective. Center mass is not an option… at that range, don’t even think about making a sudden move.
Hard to tell in that position, but it somewhat reminds me of either a Walther CCP or a Walther P99C. But it could be just a generic semiauto pistol and based on no specific weapon.
Naomi, a Grace with her hands full of grace to leave him alive until he chooses poorly. Choose not sin, FIBber.
Another nice Jewish girl full of grace. God’s will be done. We were gifted by God with the right of self defense as partially written down (memorialized) in the US Constitution. Then we must be the ones to use it. That is why it was given to us.
All who choose Naomi with a pistol, please collect your winnings at the counter near the table in the back room of the Cafe.
It looks like her other arm is providing support for something more substantial than the pea-shooter. (Did she break a strap getting that thing out? Inquiring minds really want to see know.)
It’s a darkened room. The area immediately in front of her is illuminated, including the target. Most likely, she has a Streamlight or Surefire taclight in her left hand, arm crooked under her right elbow as a support. It’s an old MP technique that’s still a perfectly sensible procedure, because it illuminates the target and blinds him simultaneously.
As to why the light is extended to her right, in a dark conditions encounter an opponent will tend to shoot at the light. Not having it in front of your body is just good common sense.
Being seriously left eye dominant, I concur with her stance and both eyes open position. At my somewhat advanced age, I also aim via the forward sight, since I can’t see the rear sight anymore… Plus, as it appears Naomi is doing, I steady my pistol by resting it on my arm that is resting on the huge tracts of land just below it. Works like a charm, but only women of a certain configuration can use it…
My instructor did not approve of the “resting on the shelf” method I used to use.

I was talking guns with one of the guards at work.
He said that while he was on the police force, they trained by using just the forward sight. Quicker and effectively as accurate.

In NYC, that scenario would result in a mass panic. I imagine that in the DBD the result will just be people getting out of the line of fire and backing up Naomi with their own pieces.
And I’m reminded of the line in “His Last Bow”, where Holmes tells the German diplomat he has captive to call for help and goes on to say that it will result in the town getting a new name for a pub, ‘The Dangling Prussian’.

I think she’s still holding the microphone with her left hand.
I agree with the broken strap (and yes, Naomi is supporting something more substantial than that pea shooter). Meanwhile, the “girls” are trying to escape on stage.
I don’t think she has her finger on the trigger; looks like it’s wrapped on the grip with her little finger tucked under the butt (woah… that triggers ME! …as you were!), and her thumbnail on the right (her left) of the grip. If so, she’s threatening the interloper (soon to be outerloper), but with no intent to fire in the crowded room. Bet she can pistol whip him to his knees before he can even get his hand on his piece, and double tap him if he does.
It could be that her finger is in the trigger but up to the first knuckle. there are only three fingers under wrapped around the magwell area. The index finger would canted downward in the drawing so it looks a bit off and confusing.
Or it could be her finger is in the trigger and what we see of her finger on her left side of the gun is a thumb forward and down which is what I think is more likely.
There is a powerful and critically important secondary message in this story arc:
Like the recent march of innocent child actor/activists, gun grabbers of various ilk and incarnation are ALL centrally connected and with one ultimate goal. They don’t give a rat’s ass except PR value about school shootings or the school kids whose blood they dance in so giddily. It is YOUR guns they want so you can’t do what Naomi is doing here; defending herself from an agent of her own government.
They are desperately afraid of the creation of an electorate that will defend themselves, and then realize how much else they can do for themselves without government interference. When enough people decide to fend for themselves the present liberal party is over.

Even with a bulletproof 4th wall, that is disturbing as fuck to look at.
Is it bad that I find that rather hot?
A lovely, yet terrifying sight.

Memo to Agent Smith:
You cannot outdraw an already aimed weapon.
Prepare to be Frog Marched and Perp Walked.
Best do what the nice lady who has the drop on you says.
That is, after you piss yourself dry.

Hopefully a night with Tabasco.

OK, not a G23. My bad. The profile is too curved and the trigger guard is scalloped. That looks familiar from somewhere but I can’t place it.
Could it be the True Caliber?
Sig P220?
So glad to see Sam and Skye cutting loose and having fun with the music.

Because she doesn’t need it. At this range, she couldn’t miss with her eyes closed.
Yes ma’am!
Nice piece.
(Hey, it looks like mine!? Damn!)
Yo! Make me wanna holla thow up both my hands??
Does seem like left is dominant. And I can’t ID the handgun. I too like the both eyes open approach, for many reasons.

River Tam was a lovely wonderful dangerous character.
Beauty and ability. How attractive.
I need protection like that. It would so improve the mix.
With River Tam I wouldn’t have to say everything all of the time.
True, with River, life would be…interesting 😉
Yes. I could like that interesting. 🙂 Plus she appears smarter than I am. A rare occurrence. At least when I was younger, handsomer, and sharper.
Tam or Song some Rivers are not to be crossed.
Imagine hearing “Hello Sweetie” whispered in your ear
Ooo, I love that. River Song visits the DD. What a storyline that would be.
Just aim at the nuts, Naomi. Then he’ll never reproduce… ever.
You could hit the abdominal aorta, too. I’m sure no one would really miss him.
Surely there is some quiet bog down there for disposal of unexpected varmints?
Better it happens outside, too much to clean up afterwards.
