They passed the stomping of feet stage, are now in the threatening to take their toys and go home stage, and since they are not getting there way and things are progressing right along, they will soon move into the holding their breath until they turn blue…thence silence, sweet silence.
Others downthread have mentioned the statements and discussions of the adults in the room, Sasse et al. You couldn’t hear them because of all the daycare noise (and of course the leftist media blackout of anything not to their liking). But you will hear them, and they will hear us soon…very soon.
Speaking of which, have the twins graduated from reloading 9mm to something more grownup, say, 45ACP and 5.56? Ahhh, the years and the episodes, how they fly by. No longer babies, are they?
Tomorrow, how will the two drama queens attempt to go a step further? Will Kamala Harris wear hand maidens garb? Will Cory Booker wear gladiator armor, with a shield labeled Spartacus? Most likely, both will wear hand maidens garb, which is more in character for both.
The 1962 movie “Advise and Consent,” hailed as the greatest American political film of all time, seems especially poignant and relevant within the context of the Kavanaugh hearing. Considered cynical and caustic back in the day because of its dark portrayal of corrupt DC politics, it is today quite ironic how grossly understated the movie’s grim vision of Congressional chicanery has become over time, by comparison.
I would encourage all DBD readers to revisit this great film or experience for the first time if you have not already taken it in.
Read everything Allen Drury wrote. Mourned his death, he gave a clear eyed view of DC.

Did anyone else watch the 15 minute remarks of Rep Ben Sasse? It’s on YouTube posted by Sasse himself and it’s remarkable to say the least… which explains why the Lamestream Media drones are studiously ignoring his words…
So what are you two (Wayne and Lowkey/loki) saying? That we have a STATESMAN in town?
Am I missing something by not having a working TV (for a good reason)?
Oh, wait, this is all available on C-Span’s site, so…. thanks for the heads up.
Of course we can shut them off. All we have to do is show up on November 6th, people. We are in the unbelievable position of winning TEN Senate seats. It is within the realm of possibility. Check the polls in the states with Dem Senators running, that Trump won.
Sorry one speech a statesman does not make. Sasse is a Swamp-lite creature like Ryan. Or if you prefer a squish republican.
The only thing that makes Kavanaugh acceptable is that the alternative would have been immediate disaster. One hopes his belief in Constutional government is strong and lasting. We don’t have any leeway.
File under: kids these days- if I’m reading my antiquity right, 14 was an acceptable marrying age for eligible daughters. Wonder why it’s now hovering around 35…?
Yet another excellent strip Chris! The message is clear and concise, and the overall artistry is great. Your technique in drawing is continuing to improve. My one and only problem is the occasional problems you have with eyes, and faces in Chrome, I love the crazy eyes you give Pelosi and Schumer and Ryan, because that is pretty much what they sound like.
In this strip, the eyes you give the one daughter are… Blue. But they kind of look like a deer caught in the headlights…
But still an awesome, awesome strip. Keep up the phenomenal work, and if you get the chance and have a strong enough stomache for it, I heard that Obama has taken credit for the great economy we have today… 🙂
“I’m sorry, I watched but I fell asleep,” Trump teased, speaking at a political rally minutes later for GOP Senate candidate Kevin Cramer in North Dakota. “I found he’s very good for sleeping.”
George Papadopoulos was sentenced for lying to the FBI. Got 14 days in jail, $9,500 fine, 13 months probation and 200 hours of community service. After millions expended, months of wasted effort and a hue and cry for what passes for the press — that’s it! The Mueller hath labored and brought forth an anthill! BTW, Mueller wanted six months.
No, it’s Trump’s, not the doings of the Slacker in a Suit. Now, what does it say when a major newspaper cannot remember (conveniently) that the markets took off almost at the moment that Trump was elected? Unemployment is now at historic lows, at the level of 1969. If this continues as it appears to be doing, it will be at the level of 1968. And Doofus In a Suit thinks he can claim it for himself.
The liberal economists said that an average 2 percent GDP was the new normal (1.8 percent for Obama’s eight years — worst recovery in over 100 years). For the last 5 quarters, the average is 3.2 percent. They said the new normal for unemployment U3 was 7 percent — now 3.9 percent. They said the industrial jobs were never coming back. So far, 400,000 new industrial jobs in the last 18 months.
There is one question the liberal economists should answer, were you lying then, are you lying now, or is lying your default mode?

As we speak children, as we speak…
Would that we could, dear. Would that we could.
We would, we could, we will…

And the only way that will happen is just like DT says right here:

He is absolutely correct.
Turn them off? Only by violent means. Turn your heads, children, and cover your ears.

Spitatus Maximus?
All depends on which of them has the bigger set of balls…
Which explains a great deal.

Even better, read the original novel by Allen Drury.

The book is even better. Better still is the sequel: “The Promise of Joy”.

I saw the 11-minute version from Fox News, and I could hardly stop laughing at the way he kept pointing his Demo-Rat peers back to “Schoolhouse Rock.”
Sassy indeed! (Pardon the play on words….)
Ben Sasse was, frankly, amazing.

I honestly believe we can do this!
I hope so…

There was a TV show called Sliders. In one episode everyone on the planet had to wear a truth collar.
Now they have smart phones.
I remember that show. Jumping to/through alternate universes, trying to find their way home. Not bad, overall. I’d forgotten all about it.
Watched Obama, just now, on Fox for 10 minutes — about all I could stomach. Speechifying from an empty suit.
File under: kids these days- if I’m reading my antiquity right, 14 was an acceptable marrying age for eligible daughters. Wonder why it’s now hovering around 35…?
Doting fathers, for one. Used to get the kids out of the house as soon as possible.

Oops, sorry. I see that this is now.
But the Real President made the most Appropriate comment it seems;

You are going to love this. The leftards (e.g. NYT) are trying to claim that the economic recovery is Obama’s.

This is how desperate they are. Stay tuned.

Of course he will claim Trump’s achievements as his own, he blamed his failures on his predecessor.
