Besides, what StarFux “barista”, IN TEXAS, is going to tell a hormone whipsawed preggers woman that she can’t carry a gun in the store? Company policy or not.
Or, just as good, a StarFux barista trying to tell a Texas pregger woman’s HUSBAND that she can’t carry in the store? How many extra breathing holes does this barista want?
True dat. You obviously understand the five grades of the hot wine of the exalted bean: (1) Coffee; (2) Java; (3) Joe; (4) Jamoke; (5) Battery Acid. (Props to RAH, writing as Woodrow Wilson Smith [aka Lazarus Long].)
Although there is something to be said for Bos’un Mates’ Coffee. wherein the spoon must stand upright – unassisted – in the cup. Especially on the morning after the night before . . .
I like liverwurst sandwiches on sourdough bread with swiss cheese, onions, and mustard. Cream cheese, especially with green onion in it, doesn’t sound bad to me at all.

Hm, barefoot, too. I guess it takes another woman to notice this. Fortunately my partner needs me functioning as a software engineer more than as barefoot and flagrant, which at my age is impossible, anyway.

Of course, Starbucks mainly sells an “experience”. Which is just as well, because to paraphrase Douglas Adams they invariably produce something that is almost but not quite entirely unlike coffee.
Chain jewelry stores mainly sell “the experience” as well. Their jewelry is generally of inferior quality and overpriced.
On the other hand, buying from a talented jewelry designer who knows how to source stones, (or visiting the mines / cutting houses in my travels) results in a lifetime of exceptional experiences.
These days diamond buying is an “experience” as cartels tell us the physically-superior lab-grown gems that no one ever bled for are somehow inferior and worth a lot less than “natural” stones. Heck, I’m old enough to have been taught brown diamonds are unwanted and used for industrial purposes, and now they’re pricey “chocolate diamonds”.
Did you notice the trend to encrust rings with dozens to hundreds of tiny “chips” they can now grow by the bucket, like if someone had warehouses of them they wanted to get rid of?
Don’t buy into that “conflict-free” diamonds crap, it’s just an extension of the guilt-trippy buying green to save the planet or going vegan to save the animals, which is to say they are all shaming us for living and are all a total sham.

It ain’t about the “conflict-free” stuff, it’s that I can buy an American-made truly flawless gem that I know isn’t supporting terrorists or child labor yet some cartel insists their product is so much more special and unique they’re going to make me pay them a premium.
We can make gemstones now, and if it all blows apart then they become shiny glass. No one is making new gold, silver, and platinum.

Don’t buy diamonds, period. The only reason they’re anything but industrial cutting tools today is summed up in two words; de Beers. They control the diamond market, and yes, that includes “conflict diamonds”. And they’ve built the diamond up into THE gemstone mainly through hype.
Sapphires and rubies are rarer than diamonds, and frankly prettier. Ever notice that blue-white or even blue diamonds fetch better prices overall, even in the standard “brilliant” cut? It’s because visually, they have depth close to that of sapphires.
Why settle for an “incredible simulation” when you can get the real thing for a lot less outlay?
And by not buying diamonds, you’re also screwing about the only thing keeping the wackazoid South African government afloat financially.
Say this for Mickey D’s coffee… best thing going when you’re road tripping. Interstate off ramp McD’s coffee is always hot and always fresh. It may not be gourmet, but it fills the need and hits the spot. Also, fresh hot fries and cheeseburgers are just about the perfect interstate road food.
Looking at mid-70’s Grumman AA5B Tigers for granddaughter who will get her private ticket on her 17th birthday Jan. 8.
Yeah a little different but still a hella good plane esp. for the money compared to overpriced 172’s and Cherokees.
Great time builder and cheaper than renting as she preps for her career path flying the big ones, and she understands and appreciates the history too.

AA5B is a good choice, JTC.
Couple of friends put their AA5B into the trees after an engine failure on takeoff. They were bunged up, but the plane’s structure (especially that fat tubular wing-spar) kept them alive and spared them worse injury.
I prefer high-wings, for myself and my camera….

So I’m not the only one who is actively avoiding the StarSchmucks “experience” since they “woke”? Such a shame when a company destroys itself.
The beauty of the Capitalist System is that self-destruction is part of the system. Clearing away the rot is what makes room for the improvements.
I think it is so apropos that the phrase “Get Woke and Go Broke.” was coined some years ago.
I avoided them from the start. My relationship with them went almost exactly like Arthur Dent’s relationship with the drinks machine on the Heart of Gold.
As Lord Peter Wimsey said of his sister’s coffee, “Once tasted, never forgotten”- no matter how much you wish you could.
I’ve been in ONE Starbucks. More years back than I care to think about. Needless to say, I was not impressed. Gag…
I get my On The Road coffee at the larger gas stations right next to whatever highway I’m on. It’s generally fresh, hot, and goes just fine into my insulated travel mug, which will last for about 200 miles or so.
At home, I use a Keurig – a 10 oz cuppa, just the way I like it, when I like it, every single time.
I don’t go INTO Starbucks, I go THROUGH it… as that’s the most convenient entrance to my local bookstore. But, just like fast food fish stores, I will stop at the door when I enter in order to sample the air before I will buy… and Starbucks almost never passes this test; based on the smells, they don’t sell anything I would be willing to pay for, much less consume. And their collective attitude certainly doesn’t help their case.
You’re paying for the cup that holds that 1/2 quart of soy latte, guaranteed to turn a grown man’s hormones into estrogen. The liquid in the cup costs nearly nothing to make. It’s those hardened paper thermos-sized take-out cups and their lids that cost money.

The twins are getting so big – nearly as tall as Mom……
Will Barron stop to visit or is there a “No IRL kids” DBD policy?
Always carrying (snerk!)
Thanks for the guffaw!

First they would have to notice.
That she’s preggers? Oh… wait… never mind!
Point made. And this is but one reason I don’t go to Starf^cks.
That, and they serve coffee so bad it makes McDonald’s Jamoke taste good.

Two panels, and such a target rich environment:
Liverwurst, Starbucks, baristas, and gun grabbers get destroyed.
Family, procreation, teaching the next generation properly, the Second Amendment, and Constitutional carry upheld.
Nice shooting, Chris!
What’s wrong with liverwurst? On Ritz garlic butter crackers it is yummy! The cream cheese seems a little strange though.

I’d make a comment about ‘so what if she likes strong smelling meat’ but then someone’s gonna bring up her choice of cheese.
I would consider the first part of that to be “casting aspersions” on Zed. He showers…………….

As they say, experience is what you get when you don’t get what you want.
Then I really do have a lifetime of experience.
Interesting observation eon.

their coffee sucks too bad to even be considered – so I avoided them long before they “woke”
Since I do not drink coffee, I can assert that I have never had any excuse to visit a Starbucks.
However, McD’s has excellent iced tea (no sweetener or w/sweet), plus those little apple tart things. Dunkin’ Donuts also has ice cream.
Why would anyone who has a brain go to a place that overcharges for everything and doesn’t really want your busines?

Imagine how much additional business they’d get should they change the policy.
Imagine how much more business they’d do if they learned to make coffee.
