A Complete and Accurate description of any Political Party, Really. I sent an email to my current US Representative, Telling her NOT to support the continuation of the Russian Collusion case against the president. I said’Since the document used to launch this investigation is known to fake, and this fiasco has already cost the US Tax Payer $30,000,000, I want you to withdraw from supporting further investigation.’

      Her response?

Let’s just say that in FL’s District 10, the Cure for VD in 2020 is to vote for Republican Kirk Troen…

I have thought those same things about my emails just yesterday.
    tons. DEADLINE. And soooo on.
And they are from both sides.

We won that 20166 elecction. Correct?
And so much has been accomplished against non stop opposition from people in both parties.
And they are coming out of the Republican woodwork again. The Republican in a facade of being a Republican are getting in the primaries as there has been a massive turnover of Republicans by retirement or defeat since President Trump was elected. The past times idea only Fox seemed to be saying are being added to by those who are never Trumpers or only Trumpers because they were forced to do their job. Speaking of those, past Speaker Ryan is a Board member of FOX corp. Now he thinks that he can do something about the problem President Trump is. He says he ws unable to do that as Speaker of the House.

And sociopath politicians will flock to the Republican primaries to be seen as those who would advance the Republicans and Trump’s goals. ( I don’t think that they could conceive of advancing the people’s goals and needs and wants.)

There will be a further influx also of people like the former Hillary and Bernie people who planned the Charlottesville gathering and nighttime march. And of course the police guided by those who wanted certain results, of which a death seemed acceptable, due to their forced throwing the people together and permitting Antifa violence. The democrats now have many people in power that have named anyone who thinks like President Trump to be worthy of the surveillance, entrapment, and provocateurs that they did to many who opposed the left in the past. And they will scream the meaningless but effect hate words at those who oppose them.

And the ladies can promise to not solicit funds.

I’m also getting Robo-calls. I’ve gotten to the point that if it has an area code from my old state, or is an out of state number that I know I have no connections to, I just let it go to voicemail. They usually just break and the number goes on my “BLOCK” list. What REALLY bugs me is when they leave a message, and start by addressing me by my first name, without an introduction. A classic sales, or con-man start. That one REALLY gets blocked!

With the student debt/car warranty/special credit offers, I’ve found a great way to answer: ¡Hola! The automated machines are usually waiting for hello or hi to start playing the message, hola throws them off and they hang up. If a presumably-real person starts talking with a pitch: ¿Usted habla español? They mark you down as Hispanic and stop calling.

As current military, I usually answer with my rank, which upsets the bots. THEN, if a real person answers, I occasionally will demand to know who gave them a classified phone number. It isn’t, of course, but they don’t know that.

Answer with last four of the phone number. Then ask for:

        Full legal name
        Date of birth
        Place of birth
        Social Security number
A phone number where they can be reached after their clearances check out.

Even the die hards hang up by this point.

One thing that usually gets a fast hang-up (if I answer at all) is, as soon as I pick up the phone I say “WQSD you’re on the air!” in my best DJ voice. I even do that with my mobile, since almost no one knows which exchanges are mobile unless they live in the area.

      • October 1, 2019 at 10:36 am

Unfortunately if you use your cell for biz ignoring unknown numbers means ignoring potential customer contacts which are by definition “unknown”. They also get around people who only answer local numbers by spoofing caller ID with numbers that appear to be from your area when in fact they originate in Mumbai or Shanghai or some other shithole. What to do? Well I get from one to ten of them every day and have quit playing games with them and just hang up…wastes a lot less of my time that way.

It’s war – the Dims, like al-Qaeda before them, having essentially declared war on America – and GOPers cannot all be epic Street Fighters, but they at least should fight. The ones who refuse to actively oppose/expose the Left’s sedition are deserters or spies, deserving not two cents of support.

That’s interesting because every aspect of it so clearly and concisely details what I would call the “default conservative” doctrine.

I note the rather enthusiastic description, from a professed Christian, of the heathen savior (Holger Danske in this case, but practically every culture has one), a warrior who, like the Pharisees of old had hoped for (and the Israelites of today still hope for), will arise, gather his armies, smash our political and religious enemies into dust and establish an Earthly kingdom. Maybe it represents something which dwells in most all of us; a patient, brooding, long-suffering presence, observing the injustices of the world, waiting for the time to form a posse, arm up and start cutting throats.

But; Christian? It most certainly is not.

“A Republic, if you can keep it.”
Well, with most republicans that have been and are in the Swamp, the keeping of the Republic looks mighty slim. Note the big time push to disarm the public before the next election. Not only federal, but in the states individually.
Seems like there is some big time scheming going on as to what will occur, win or lose by some large group of people in some party.
When before in history have we had half the country refusing the results of an election and the leaders of a party calling the winner an “illegitimate president”?
There have been wars because of that in this worlds past.
I am not looking forward as to what will happen here if this continues to escalate.

Ah, nonncom, you might want to recheck your Constitution. Impeachment can ONLY occur in the House; it’s analogous to an arraignment in civil courts. The trial is conducted in the Senate, Chief Justice of the Supreme Court presiding, where conviction is required before punishment – delineated in the Constitution – may be applied.

Several points, if the Articles of Impeachment are sent to the Senate, they must first vote on the different articles one is charged with. A simple majority removes or approves which are to go forward. The trial is presided over by the Chief Justice of the US. It required a two-thirds vote to remove someone from office.

You want to know why the government is in no hurry to block robo-calls? It’s been a staple of TV and movies to use bombs with cell phone detonators, landline could also be used. But thanks to telemarketing, any phone anywhere could ring at seemingly anytime. Apparently some scammers just call incrementally, getting numbers that aren’t even in service. Cheap enough as they call blocks of thousands at once.

So phones are virtually worthless to terrorists in America as detonators. Homeland Security wins again. I wouldn’t be surprised if they ran their own service in “areas of suspected activity”.

So…how do random computer-generated calls to random numbers interfere with or prevent Tangoes from calling actually targeted ones?

No, it’s all about the Money…Always Follow The Money, as much with the RNC as with scam calls (redundant). That shit works, THAT’S why they do it and why it is damn near unstoppable. Just hang up. And if you do get targeted by a terrorist bomb…well at least it’ll be quick.

      • October 1, 2019 at 12:34 pm

“random computer-generated calls to random numbers”

Scammers can simultaneously call all numbers from (515)723-0000 to (515)723-9999, then go right to the (515)724 block, assuming those are valid exchanges. They only care about who picks up first and instantly hang up the rest. Shouldn’t be that hard to work through several area codes a day and have every capable phone ring at least once.

So a wannabe terrorist makes their clever cell phone-activated bomb, turns it on to admire their handiwork. And suddenly will not be interested in that extended vehicle warranty.

        John M.

Think the other way – the Tango gets the phone wired and ready right there in his bomb shack, when a telemarketer blind calls…

  • October 1, 2019 at 12:48 pm

Ah. Stupid terrorists then. Well as we know, can’t fix that. Except by you know, detonation I guess.

Yes to your second paragraph; not so much random as universal I guess for the marketing scams, somewhat more targeted from a list for the fund-raising I imagine. Still, point being both are done and will continue to be done, because it works on some sub-percentile of recipients enough to make it remunerative…again due to the “can’t fix stupid” factual meme.

Best part though is CNN’s admission…”The map is a county-by-county rendering of the 2016 election. And it is accurate. They’ll only be here today but they could give me directions to pick up my prize at the headquarters in Pittsburgh if that’s what I really wanted, but if I want it here and now…

These days, 90% of the calls that come in on my land line are bogus. I answer the phone silently. If there is a real person calling me, they will say something. I count to 3 silently, and if no human voice, I hang up. If a robocall starts, I hang up. Actually, most of the time I don’t answer the phone, if the ID says Unknown, Anonymous, or is from halfway across the country.

I figure nearly all of the “please support our group” calls are scams, whether it’s a political party, veterans, firemen, etc. And all the telemarketers are scams, for sure.

Real people that you know either send you a text message or an email. The USA has the greatest telephone system in the world, but it has been taken over by con artists and crooks. Expect the government to do nothing about it, nor the phone companies.

Money does not translate into principled action.

Last time spoke to a Republican money raiser, I told him I’d been down this road for 35 years, to no avail. I said I’d start donating again AFTER they “defeated the Democratic Party” (as was the language of the solicitation).

Money cannot buy them principles, nor confidence, nor courage. They have to demonstrate that first, and then, maybe, I could support them again. Certainly not before. 99% of them will run scared! or lash back at you! for broaching the subject of principled action.
