And yes, the ladies are quite fetching.

The question is, where does Sam conceal what she is carrying in that getup?

Not that what she’s carrying is very well concealed in that getup.

It’s called “misdirection”, you are looking where she wants you to look so you don’t see what she doesn’t want you to see. Every stage magician knows how that works. And she has some fine distractions.

    Fronk!

While I appreciate the punchline and the message behind today’s strip, I still feel I must point out that today’s reality is something quite different. Anecdotally, local law enforcement and DAs have been anything but supportive of ordinary citizens defending their lives and property against these fiends. [Just ask Kyle Rittenhouse and Mark & Patricia McCloskey!] Apparently, they want us dead i.e. either submit to mob violence or be charged with a felony for the crime of defending yourself… Welcome to End Stage America!!!

That being said, please allow me to suggest a pair of non-lethal alternatives to firearms:

A pressure washer makes an excellent improvised water cannon for use as a crowd control weapon, should you have the misfortune to be confronted by a deranged mob at your place of residence. Purchase a gasoline powered unit (not electric) and select one with the maximum horse power (up to 13HP) you can afford. Use the maximum pressure nozzle (up to 4000 PSI) for self defense in this situation.

Wasp/Hornet Spray is a far superior alternative to bear pepper spray. [They call it Trucker’s Surprise] Emits a highly focused, easily aimed stream, jumbo can holds more than twice as much chemical irritant, far less expensive and way more effective. Puts their dicks in the dirt every time!

    • September 10, 2020 at 7:27 am

Fronk, while what you’ve stated regarding local law enforcement and DA’s applies primarily to cities, out here in the rural and thinly settled suburban areas, the reverse is true. Both the police and local prosecutors understand the realities of life, one of them being that when seconds count, the police/county sheriff/state police are (many) minutes away. More often they’re showing up to deal with the paperwork and to haul the miscreants (if they are still alive) to jail or (if they are deceased) to the morgue. We don’t have that silly city BS clogging up our justice system out here.

        TexasEngineer

Out here in the country southeast of Dallas…the county sheriff’s office will be happy to write the report…and remember the two rules:
        1. Any body worth shooting is worth shooting several times.
        2. There’s nothing a cop hates more than conflicting stories.

    • September 10, 2020 at 7:29 am
      GWB

But your “today’s reality” is not in large parts of Texas (and other locales). There, the police are a part of the community, and a pro-AntiFa DA might still get run out of town on a rail (and certainly would be run out of town). The DD is in an idealized spot of TX, sure, but it’s much closer than places like coastal Oregon, Washington, and California.

As to your non-lethal alternatives: yes, they might work to discourage. But they might not help much when the guy blocking in your car raises his evil black rifle toward you or your loved one. (A mob is alwaysa lethal situation, btw, due to sheer overwhelming numbers. Even if you’re in your house.)

      • September 10, 2020 at 12:06 pm
        John

I think you’ve hit on something here.
The key seems to be social contact between LE and the community they police.
The larger the agglomeration of people the greater the temptation to cut the numbers of LE to save money, thus forcing LE to spend less time knowing the citizenry in general and thus reading what lurks within. That, in turn, encourages crime by making the perps anonymous. Having enough cops to walk a beat might be expensive, but some societies, like the Japanese, think them indispensable.

      • September 10, 2020 at 7:37 pm
        GWB

It’s not just the numbers. Someplace like LA, probably very few of the cops know the people in the neighborhoods they patrol (almost nobody walks a beat anymore), except for the bad guys. They live in a nicer part of town (because that humongous area is technically one town), and they might barbecue with a few neighbors once in a while, but they don’t see the people they protect in the store every day, or at their kids’ ballgames, or…. They often “don’t understand man, you ain’t from around here.”

      Old Codger

Fronk, your “today’s reality” only prevails in the larger cities – Houston, S.A., Dallas/Ft Worth and Austin (AKA “Silicon Gulch”). In pretty much all the cities smaller than Austin and in the towns and rural areas sanity (and the GOP) prevails.

BLM and Antifa demand “an end to the police”. But “the police” are the only thing protecting them from the natural consequences of their actions.

They’re like the schoolyard bully who takes the smaller childrens’ lunch money and then beats them up, because he knows that the principal will just tell everyone that he (the bully) “has low self-esteem” and will otherwise protect him (the bully) from the parents of his victims who would otherwise come to the school grounds and proceed to pound the mortal s#!t out of him.

The irony of this is of course lost on BLM and Antifa.

As for their progressive enablers, it is increasing their power and leaving the public more and more at their (dubious or even non-existent) mercy. So they’re not going to gainsay it.

Also, in Rittenhouse’s case, he was walking around carrying the AR and the local LEO told him they appreciated what he was doing and gave him water… Not all cops are the ‘enemy’. And if ‘it’ does ‘hit the fan’, I hope the cops are home defending their families and leave us to do what the Second Amendment gives us the right to do…

At the wasp spray suggestion, although effective. Wasp spray is a nuerotoxin and use of such in self defense opens you up to LOTS of issues you DO NOT want to have to defend in court.

I also am NOT using a pressure washer when the opposition can choose to return fire with copper coated lead.

If defensive measures are initiated, they will be proper defensive measures and I live in rural Red America for a REASON.

We’re not talking firetruck levels of water pressure here…
We had riot hoses in my last ‘workplace’
They worked, but they were run from 75hp pumps
You’d be surprised how many ways there are divert a water stream
Wasp spray…dicey there, depending on the area.
Up here if you sprayed someone with it and you weren’t home
The word ‘pre-mediated’ would be tossed around in court
As would ‘administering a noxious substance’
You are not permitted to defend yourself in any way
Criminals are a protected species with extra rights
The penalties for ‘molesting’ them are quite severe
More severe than their crimes, including assault or murder.

Fronk: There’s often a big difference here between the cops on the street and the chief, or between the cops and the prosecutor. The police on the scene weren’t interested in Rittenhouse at all. The police investigators cleared Zimmerman in the Trayvon Martin shooting, but politicians appointed a special persecutor. (And I did not misspell that!)

The Oblablahma DOJ was logistics for the “protesters” during the T Martin persecution. I recall they hired buses and transported demonstrators around Florida, and more. Rooms? Food?
Travon did not get the ingredients for Drank back to corrupt his little brother. All he needed was the ‘Tussin. With a bit of Robitussin and what he bought at the store made a common “Drank” that was sip sip sip sipped by some famous rappers who even made songs about it. It gave a long even buzz from what I have read.
The gentleman with the rap sheet who had already said that he could not breath while in the police car, that being a likely reason to remove him, did die from the fentynal (however it’s spelled) in his system. That from the coroner, I read. He was going to die from the phentonol and probably did.
If reality does not fit, print the legend that you need for your agenda. As the left says, the crime happened somewhere by some cop. What difference does it make which cop they blame for what. They are all the same to the leftist and Marxists. All must be destroyed, they say.

Voting makes a difference, or Soros would not have spent so much getting State Secretary of State’s elected, Attorney general’s elected, local prosecutors elected. How would you like a Soros sponsored official making decisions about your life? Especially live or die or jail decisions?

Non-lethal is for cops doing their watered-down (as it were) crowd control.

But a crowd up in my face or home or business to where I have reason to feel seriously threatened? Fuck hoses or spray of any kind, it’s triple-tap time, two to body mass and one to the head if I’m lucky. If you have to shoot, shoot to kill.

Dude, YOU hit the streets on foot in the target neighborhoods. There might be ways to get in more mingling (I like those pastor-sponsored meet ‘n greets, free food to come meet face-to-face the guys in those squad cars you see every day) and that is a very good tool, but walking a beat?

There’s a reason they don’t do that anymore, other than for PR. A guy or two alone at night on the streets of many of these cities is a deadly assignment; talk about target neighborhoods.

And all of that is notwithstanding that street cops in the cities are not Tucker -though there are many of his kind in the towns- and tend toward young, idealistic, naive and therefore vulnerable newbies, middle-aged fat guys with a bad attitude, and yeah, a fair smattering of mean mother fuckers, so not the best street psychologists. And they have their hands full being law enforcement and peace officers, not knowing if one bad decision in the heat of the moment will cost him his job, his freedom, and maybe his life…and that hesitation in itself could cost him his life. Let them focus on that reality and leave the counseling to counselors, clergy, community leaders and captains.

The pantyfa crowd might want to think long and hard before getting frisky in areas where most households own farm equipment. They also know about lots of places where trash can be buried deep enough to be hard to find. Most backhoes can reach to a depth of 20 feet or so, and finding a hole that deep in the middle of several acres of ground that’s plowed up on an annual basis would be quite a chore.

    • September 10, 2020 at 5:13 pm
