There is a natural order; immutable law set by God and enforced by Patriots.

And there is tyrannical, feral government that seeks to overturn it.

Today the former overcame the latter. Not sure how much longer it can hold.

Man I like those little strappy jumpers the girls favor…

Well, you can’t have Federal without feral.

I suspect the feds will charge Kyle with violating the civil rights of his so-called victims. It probably won’t occur to any of them to investigate first and learn that the arsonist rioters and looters Kyle shot were all white.

The hook to “violating civil rights” charges in the past (e.g., Stacey Koons) has been that the defendants were police officers and thereby bound by oath to honor civil rights. Kyle has no official relationship with any level of government and (as a common citizen) no duty to protect anyone’s civil rights in the first place.

That doesn’t mean that Lavrentiy Garland won’t TRY. It just means his rationale will be a priori bogus.

    I LOVE legal Latin!

If the judge had any ethics, he would have dismissed all charges sua sponte. And, if it goes to fedferal court, the appelate court should quash the whole thing. I didn’t know that about the defendants being LEO’s. Good info, H.

I disagree with you about the judge’s choice, if the judge was virtually certain an acquittal would be the verdict. An acquittal is final. It cannot be appealed to another level of the court (so long as the constitution is followed, that is). If he had dismissed the charges, even with prejudice, a very determined prosecutor could attempt to reprosecute and punish the accused just by making them go through the effort and expense of defending themselves again. This way, it really can’t be done. Acquittals on all counts are final. (N.B. I am not a lawyer, however. I am a scientist. A true legal expert may be in a position to correct me, and I would appreciate it if anyone working in the legal field wants to do so.)

Took law in college. Yes. An Acquittal is final due to double jeopardy. Once found innocent in a jury trial, you cannot be re-tried for the same crime. Smart of the judge to do this, as he also could have vacated the jury ruling if they had come back guilty due to tampering. The prosecution utterly screwed the case. (Because there wasn’t one to begin with).

The friend may well be guilty as charged as a straw man.

Gone to any FFL recently and noticed all the posters and signs “Don’t Lie For The Other Guy” etc. etc.?

That is a law so malleable and open to interpretation and abuse that it is swung as a cudgel to intimidate and punish buyers -and dealers -when the core case is full of holes and/or unprovable. Works like a charm and no doubt puts the kibosh on quite a few perfectly legitimate gun purchases if the dealer gets any hint or whiff that the purchase is for someone else; ask a few dealers in the Atlanta area about their interactions and entrapment by Bloomberg; ruined them. So while I don’t know any specifics, if the dealer can save his own ass by throwing the boys under the bus, they will be roadkill.

The buyer was 18 and Kyle was 17, so if that was stated by them to be the reason for the get-around, that they used KR’s money, and the buyer was not the ultimate owner, then he lied on the 4473 and he is toast.

Just wait until they push through their ultimate back-door gun control measure, the oh-so-innocuous and common-sensical “Universal Background Checks”, and you ain’t seen nothing yet when it comes to the use of that very effective cudgel.

The straw purchase case will most probably fail. You will hear the MSM misquote the definition as “buying a firearm for someone else who couldn’t legally buy it.” That’s a lie. It’s “buying a firearm for someone else who couldn’t legally POSSESS it.” Kyle, being under 18, can’t legally buy a firearm, but can legally possess one. Now, if a person under 18 can’t buy a firearm, and nobody else can buy it for him, how can he arrange to possess one legally? Impossible, right? That’s why this particular purchase was legal.

Today in this country we are afflicted with a three-tiered criminal justice system. All ruled over by our self-anointed “best and brightest”.

The uppermost tier is for the ruling elite themselves. As seen with Biden, the Clintons, etc., it says “we don’t care what you do, o Fearless Leaders, in fact we admire you for doing it”.

The middle tier is for professional criminals and “activists” of the left. It says “Do whatever you want to the peasants, it Forwards The Revolution”.

The bottom tier is for the peasants. The law-abiding citizens. It says “Whatever you do or do not do, we will punish you for it because your very existence offends us“.

Rittenhouse was fortunate enough to have a judge and jury that still recognized the rule of law- actual law.

In most cases today, the “law” is whatever the “enlightened elite'” say it is. And that is emphatically not the same thing.

        Isn’t it interesting to note:

        1) According to the left, Kyle was a racist, even though ALL the people he shot were white, because those white people had gathered to “honor” a black police “victim” (who deserved everything he got from the police, but that’s another story).

        2) Every one of the white people who “gathered to honor the black guy” and got shot (or shot at) was a felon or habitual criminal.

Clearly it’s true that who your friends are says who you are.

  • November 20, 2021 at 12:38 pm

The most sobering quote I have seen…

Rittenhouse’s attorney, Mark Richards, said his client “wishes none of this would have ever happened.”

I do hope the episode serves to dissuade the decisions made and actions taken by Kyle that night. He was/is a boy incapable of the kind of logic and reason and restraint that comes from maturity and experience. And his experience in spite of the correct verdict has ruined his life, much as G. Zimmerman’s was ruined.

You can’t fix stupid, but hopefully the stupidity of one can serve as schooling for others.

A few thoughts about this ongoing situation: Between Zimmerman and Rittenhouse the attitude of the nation has grown against those committing blatant crimes. On the other hand those engaged in this destruction have enjoyed fewer repercussions as time has passed. The politicians and bureaucrats haven’t allowed the police or the guard to do their jobs. The 17 year old wasn’t there to stop a riot, he was there to protect a relative or friend’s car lot. As the cars were set aflame Kyle retreated. He tripped and while getting up took a boot to the head from a 6’5″ professional criminal, who’s known by the police. No repercussions.

Kyle didn’t stop the riot, but he escaped it. Barely. His near sacrifice has, for over a year, given the country a chance to think more clearly about where we are headed as a nation. Attitudes are beginning to turn around. I think citizens have realized this can happen from the street level as well as the political. Guns. It always comes down to guns. I hope this change of direction can be done without them, but the left seems ready to sacrifice all the conservative principles and people to reach their goals. I’d hate to be the object of a mob without one…

I would say that our history opposes the quartering of soldiers in any house during peace, nor unlawfully during times of war. That sense made it inti he Bill of Rights and only done by means approved by the legislature during time of war.
Pushing this on the people by forcing governments to do so is treading in an area the people never allowed.
I even propose that they are insisting on burdening the people with quartering their enemy invading troops across the nation as a method of conquering what is America and the USA.
      https://www.heritage.org/constitution/#!/amendments/3/essays/143/quartering-of-troops
There would be no question about this if the troops were just Nazi believers and they were settled across the same. the same is true if it were settling Sharia believers across the nation. (As is being done.) The same with affirmed communists being settled across the nation. (The Frankfurt School was one small effective group of much larger similar minded groups.)
Natural law is an understanding of the natural order of humanity. Basically natural law is often called God’s Law, or other terms. They make sense.
Self defense is a Natural Law.
Self defense of the nation makes sense. Self defense of a nation, a state, a city, a town, a community, a family, and of a person is all natural law and it makes sense.
The Biden regime has taken the violations of natural law to the point where every one of those common sense concepts is being violated. (I don’t mean the contorted ideas the enemy calls common sense.)

When people first heard of the flights of the asymmetrical foreign armies, and the bussing of such armies, into communities, the people rose up and were blocking them. The federals were ordered to make such invasions to conquer army transport to be kept secret as to where and when they occurred. They also gave directives that overwhelmed defenses in the name of doing good while encouraging and assisting those bringing them here.
Biden has no legitimacy as an American President. He is in his locked Forbidden City giving orders with no relevance to the needs of the American people except if his regime sees the needs of the American people is to be destroyed.
Law is based on the people. They want to change the people allegedly for their own good.
Forcing people to harbor foreign troops in their own homes was repugnant to Americans before the USA. Forcing Americans to housie enemy asymmetric armies in our communities is just as repugnant to Americans.
I have not heard this put this way before. It fits.
Maybe I or someone else will convince the masses that they must not put up with this insult and violation of our rights and violation of natural law.
The enemy tries to isolate responsibility so that after they throw someone off a bridge into life threatening situations, they scream for others to save them at their own cost. It also is a Cloward-Piven Strategy, which is actually an ancient strategy.
