Now that’s prepped. Alas, each of us can and must do what we can with what we have. Time’s probably past for prepping, ready to look at the other letters in the Loop.

Have I mentioned how much I appreciate, and how much in awe I am, that we have been so richly rewarded with double-toons these last days…? Don’t know how the boy cranks out one every single day, but two? Damn.

I’m not holding my breath as NYC tends to dictate political leanings for the rest of New York but I also know many are getting tired of the catch and release of violent criminals so we may see an upset in a few weeks.

In the end it usually comes down to guns.

As Solzhenitsyn and others have pointed out throughout history: The vast majority of individuals with lots of weapons, ammunition, and the will to use them, is far preferable to only the government having guns.

Regarding panel 2, whether Jan’s list is fictional or actual, an actual Limited Government functioning under a Rule of Law with the Consent of the Governed would be far more valuable.

With total government (federal, state, and local) spending at 37% of Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and growing, total official government debt at $35 Trillion and growing, and another $65 Trillion of unfunded, off-the-books, government debt also growing, we now have government by metastasized cancer.

Even under the iron fists of the Soviet Union and Mao’s China, the wheels came off when government reached 40% of GDP.

      The 300

Two things about the Dark Ages:
      1. They weren’t Dark for all of Europe. Byzantium carried on the Roman tradition, albeit as a Christian instead of pagan state.
      2. They lasted so long for the rest of Europe because information was lost. Illiteracy killed the ability to read whatever was left of ancient wisdom (in the west) and the oral tradition died with the bearers of that knowledge. Muslim pressure shrank the Byzantine Empire and forced much of the ancient information in it to the west, igniting the Renaissance.

This being America, if there is a total collapse, the ones that will take the brunt of the casualties are government dependents and liberals who have no idea how things work or what it takes to get things done. The rest of us will be in the hinterlands with books about agriculture, engineering and technology and will be motivated and able to rebuild in much less than several centuries.

Generally agreed, but those in the hinterlands must rapidly coalesce around some form of limited self-government as originally intended by the framers of the Constitution to avoid having to endure several generations of the brutal thugocracies that will naturally arise to fill the void.

    True to their deight at dancing in the blood of innocents, this will be a wedge to further their primary backdoor control of your access to the tools of defense from them;

“Universal Background Checks” which they not entirely wrongly say is supported by many otherwise strong 2A supporters, because it just sounds so damn common-sensical…requiring a screening for bad guys trying to buy a gun? Hell yeah, great idea! Except…

The truth is that any bad guy that wants one can steal or obtain one regardless of any law, and they know that based on their trace history of crime guns. But that’s not what it’s about, it’s about any firearm that you or any free American may have has to be run through the defacto registration system adminstered by the conscripted FFL’s of which I was one for so many years. The National Private Armory is the last bastion beyond their reach and they desperately want to eliminate the historical and codified exemption on the commerce in firearms provided in the ATF regulations. Don’t let them do it!

      ULTRA-MAGA TOP DAWG JTC

Perfect example of the fact that even conservative groups who purport to explain “Biden’s Gun Control Agenda” to us ignernt rubes have no. idea. what the “universal background check” really is, what it does, and the incredibly harmful downstream effects of it…from the legal analyst of the Heritage Foundation no less. From their article:

“Biden brought up mandatory background checks. Let’s be really clear on this. What do they want to change? Don’t we already do background checks?
The answer is yes and no. Statistically, I think most gun sales and transfers in this country do go through background checks. So if you are buying a gun from a store, from any sort of brick and mortar place, from anyone who is what the ATF calls engaged in the business of dealing firearms, your typical gun seller, whether it’s at a gun show, a store over the internet, federal law requires a background check. And it also requires a background check if you’re just an individual person selling across State lines.”

So far so good. But then they go off the rails and start using the grabber’s own talking points, saying things that are outright wrong not to mention in the most part outright harmful and a violation of the Constitutional rights they are supposedly defending…

“There is this small group of sales that do not require background checks. So right now, if you think of things like ARMSLIST, so these individual sales to individuals within the same State, so if I have a gun that I just want to get rid of and advertise it on ARMSLIST, I don’t necessarily have to go through a background check at least under federal law.”

That is accurate that in-person private sales within the seller’s own state are exempt from going through the onerous process of sending to an FFL to eventually be processed to the buyer after a NICS check. In-state shipping is okay too for long guns but a pain in the ass, and while still exempt from NICS, almost undoable for handguns due to carriers’ requirements. And bet these exemptions would absolutely go away with UBC like so many other infringements. Back to the Heritage article…

“Part of the reason for this is that only federally licensed businesses have access to the national instant criminal background check system. So if I, as non FFL want to sell a gun, I have to go pay an FFL to do that, I can’t just call up the FBI and have them run a background check. So on the one hand, I think it makes sense to want to try to ensure that these individual sales are checked in a more substantial way. I don’t think that’s a bad thing, especially these private commercial sales between strangers.”

What? That’s a total and complete failure to grok what that really means…notwithstanding that an individual can’t privately access NICS, why would you want to do that? Do they understand what would be required for private party sellers and buyers to process a transfer through an FFL? How about the seller having to physically deliver the firearm to the dealer who will log it into his permanent record, for the seller to come in and complete the 4473, (which is absolutely a registration subjecting the weapon and the buyer to search and seizure). And do you know what happens if the buyer gets a non-approval? He can appeal but he can’t take the gun and the seller who has already been paid for it can’t get it back…as it stands right now, the FFL would end up owning it. And by “commercial sales between “strangers” you mean private legal American citizens? Why don’t you just join up with Every Town? This is pure ignorance about what the exemption actually is and what is entailed and the huge sacrifice in ending it…most notably the creation of a paper trail and government record of what was heretofore your private property in your private hands and without the knowledge or permission of anybody especially government. Back to a slight amount of logic and reason, even if still missing the primary point of giving up a historical and codified right and subjecting our possessions and ourselves to confiscation and disarming…

“Even if this (UBC) was a hundred percent successful, it’s a very low reward endeavor. So we know that statistically, this is not how most would be criminals acquire firearms. And we also know that even if it were, the same people who are already selling to people they know are criminals are going to continue doing so without background checks even if you now say you have to conduct a background check. And second, I said Biden’s recent call for background checks on all sales is that most calls for universal background checks are much broader than that. It would impose these significant burdens on sort of low risk, temporary transfers.”

Much broader and creating significant burdens on low-risk transfers right! This is a feature not a bug and the whole raison d’ etre for this sneaky backdoor element of their aims of full registration…Here are some examples that still miss the big picture point of attack and violation of 2A rights but at least acknowledge some of the stupid, but again, they don’t care!

“Effectively, anytime someone other than you wants to touch your gun for whatever limited period of time, you have to do a background check. And you’re more likely to actually make felons of law abiding citizens than to stop any criminal from getting guns that way. Right and so again, this is one of those areas where I think work can be done, especially if you combine private sale background checks with reasonable exemptions for concealed carry permit holders, people who have gun permits in States that require gun permits, where by virtue of having that permit, you clearly pass a background check. But it’s not a high reward scenario. So because it’s low reward, you want to make sure that it’s also low burden and low risk for law abiding citizens.

They don’t want it to be “low burden and low risk” for law abiding citizens, they want to make it hard and/or impossible for you to access the products you want and that are totally legal and totally protected by law and the Constitution. You start using their words like reasonable exemption and try to give them a few points like eliminating checks for loans and gifts and permit holders and you play right into their hands of creating a permission aspect for a hell of a lot more than just a private sale.

Wake the fuck up y’all! Protect the National Private Armory and your Constitutional rights, legal protections and provisions of historical and codified law.

It takes that long to get out of the car and into the building, were they waiting in the parking lot for the call ?
Let’s see, they refused to take the weapon, but once it was taken it was returned, someow a kid could afford an AR platform plus 600 rounds, from a ‘private seller’… there are so many things that smell fishy about this story that if it read ‘gov’t agent gives kid firearm and points him at school’ it would scan better.
