Speaking of Javier……..I can see this DBD story arc incorporating ideas from Asimov’s original Foundation trilogy. The rapid decline of the FedGov (Galactic Empire), a small upstart town (planet), at the edge of civilization, no resources, weak and of no political/military consequence, manages to become a trading powerhouse due to a plethora of inventions.
For a storyline started in 1942, and published in book form in the early 1950s (seventy years!), the Foundation series holds up damn well. Where’s Hari Seldon?

Loving the new depository plan; ironically TX has the only state-run depository in the country, but it’s still gov and while I personally do not grok anybody wanting their gold stored outside their physical reach (I mean you can fit $1M in gold eagles in a shoebox, so it ain’t a space issue it’s a security thing; and while that bigazz vault is more secure than my TL-30 safe, it’s still run by gov which to me no matter where it is, just can’t be totally trusted for when the SHTF), so The Don’s new private vault is the next best thing to in your hand.
And even rich Texas guys can be really stupid when it comes to “stores of value”, pitching the cyber crap and claiming more security in that than the historical value and fungibility of gold. Do not like this smarmy little bastard anyway, now I like him less, purely trying to protect his own wealth by putting that of everyone else at risk with his very bad advice…proving who is really dumb (and evil) as fuck.
