Question is, would father any here that has lived and loved and suffered through their daughter’s transition from girl to woman give such advice as to jump in the car and run to Vegas for one of those canned weddings based on lust alone (yes even those knowing words of Jack that are lusty aphrodisiac to this young woman)?

Jack may be ready to take his wife and build his life, and might even be aware and prepared to take on the world outside to defend them, and he might even go to Zed for his blessing and get it (if he asks before Z has the heart-to-heart with Kiko as imagined above) but it ain’t their decision is it? I have seen Zed employ practical philosophy to life, as in the wise words of the old Chinks:
“One moment of patience may ward off great disaster. One moment of impatience may ruin a whole life.”
Girl sure leaped into his arms right then didn’t she? She might well be ready right now to embark on life with Jack…but she might not be and she should not and likely can not be pushed into it. And sure as hell her Daddy will be on her side either way.
Since I am guessing most of us here are mean old buzzards; would you advise any young person to join the Military? Police? Big City School?
They would probably be further ahead to bunker down and prepare the best they can for the next years.
I figure when the rolling U.S. disaster finishes, most all illegals will stay home where they at least know how to live.
Unless young Jack is (in addition to ranching) a DPS State Trooper with years on the highways and byways, Texas Ranger is a long-term goal, but one his new future Daddy in law would probably approve of.That said, it would provide Chris Muir a whole bucket full of storylines to explore! And regarding wokeness, maybe the Rangers playing baseball in Arlington might have some of that…

Or the one to come, populated by the real soldiers, officers, and leaders of that one, added to the ready willing and able new recruits like Jack and Kiko?
The military of the disunited states has been made into a global laughingstock. The military of the new Constitutional Republic of America will stop the laughter and regain the respect of the world and the people they represent.

Twenty-five years ago, I’d have said military or LEO was OK, based on my personal experiences (in the latter).
Ten years ago, I’d have still said LEO but not military.
