    Gonna make shirts that say:
    Why masked?
    Anti-science,
    fear fetishist,
    or just
    really ugly?

There are still a very few in my town that wear masks — mostly seniors that, I think, are afraid. At 75, I’m not afraid of covid, or much else. The older you get, the less afraid you are.

I’m hanging in there to see what happens to old Joe. I have a bottle of champagne chilling, just in case.

True about the fear; Approaching 72 next birthday and I’m still around primarily out of stubbornness and to help my wife. Gotta watch out for crap coming out of left field though (that’ll get you every time)

OTOH, if Old Joe strokes out, we will end up with President Harris. The collective “Oh, shit” from millions of voices will be drown out by the cackling from Mordor-on-the-Potomac.

Be careful of what you wish for, because you just might get it.

I’m all for mask wearing- – – – -since virtually all the people who still wear them are dummycraps so butt-ugly that their looks would gag a buzzard if they don’t cover up as much of themselves as possible. Maybe we could convince them it would be healthy to wear a burkha anytime they go out in public!

I must speak up against this negativity on wearing masks. I know a few people who are dealing with some serious health issues, where their overall condition could be placed in serious jeopardy if they were to come into contact with viruses and germs that the rest of us are barely phased by. Please try to understand that not everyone enjoys health strong enough to allow them a mask free life when out in public, and that these unfortunate conditions existed long before the world ever heard of something called Covid19. My oncologist and I thank you for your cooperation.

Presumably such folks are looking after themselves in the manner they see fit, which is as it should be. I understand, as an angrywhitemalechauvanist, that sometimes it feels like you are being lumped in with a broader group in a generalization, but if you’re not part of the group don’t sweat it, we’re not talking about you; and if we are, one of us is the DBag. 😉

If masks worked as advertised, I’d agree. As generally selected and worn, not. Not even a little.

You can tell who has some notion of what works: it’s what they’re wearing. With some exceptions (aforementioned fetishists), they have reason for doing so.

I was Board Certified in Hem and Onc more than 40 years ago. We would recommend masks for folks undergoing transplants during their periods of immunosuppression, but my experience was that most patients did not wear correctly, and I never detected any difference in infectious complications between excellent compliance and poor compliance. I am not aware of but would be happy to check any references to any studies that demonstrated a solid risk reduction for those wearing masks correctly.

That being said, if your transplant doc or Hem/Onc says to wear one, I would not discourage you from compliance.

Masks DO reduce spread in exhaled air for bacteria and viruses, but quickly lose effectiveness after a few hours use due to moisture. Unless maybe you are in the desert.

It makes much more sense scientifically for those around immunocompromised individuals to wear masks and either gloves or wash hands well before contact.

I had a skirmish with breast cancer in 2016 which landed me in the hospital 3 times with sepsis, but a mask wouldn’t have helped me. The chemo suppressed my immune system and for some reason made me very susceptible to UTIs. I never wore a mask. I am a retired RN and I had no faith in them.

I am here in Texas, 100% recovered now, seven years later. I wore a mask only as long as they were mandated, and thankfully tossed mine when they rescinded the mandate. Texas got rid of them fairly early, for which we were extremely grateful. Governor Abbott is a pretty decent governor, actually, and far better than my last one. That was Governor Jerry Brown. I will always thank God that my husband retired in 2013 at the age of 70 and we skedaddled to Texas as fast as we could. That way when the plandemic hit in 2020, we were safe from Governor Newsom.

I never make an issue if someone wears a mask, as long as they don’t make one with me. Fortunately, Texans are some of the most polite people on the face of the Earth. I have never before lived in a place where people were so good at minding their own business!

To clarify this first. There are bad guys and good guys. There also happens to be good women and bad women. Did you ever notice how many women there are trying to make life as difficult as possible? This administration is full of them. There were numbers of them in President Trump’s administration and many out side of it still trying to tear him and us down. Note the many in media. How about Valerie Jarrett, Hitlery, or the Dictator of Michigan just for a tiny, tiny example?

The communist hall across from the family business told me they were acting to do that to the USA and Europe. I understood, what with the pogroms and all. I started discussions with them when I was 8 or 9, continuing until they all died off and it closed. The Kalegri award, the highest EU honor, is given to those who help diversify Europe.

Always keep your discussions in proper context and within the law and especially within the protections of the US Constitution and common law.
The tyrants continued to fight the rights recognized in Magna Carta. Those attempts to crush the rights of the people continue up until these days. Censorship and making speech illegal is an often used weapon of governments and people in governments.

Without censorship and foolish laws and regulations the actual use value of masks and Ivermectin would be widely known. Also the excess deaths among vaxxed populations and what some consider a crime against humanity would have been reduced or not occurred.

Keep in mind that the Magna Carta was intended to guarantee the privileges of the nobles, not the rights of the people. Even in England, peasants didn’t have rights until they’d gained them by force of arms at Crecy, Agincourt, and etc.

King John resented what that Tammany Hall in mail shirts made him sign at Runnymede, because he didn’t think of doing it to them first.
