Of course, as Captain Kirk once observed, there is nothing more dangerous than a wounded animal.
You are dealing with people with a great deal of power who are accustomed to getting their way with little more than a wave of the hand. As Pharaoh said, “So let it be written; so let it be done”.
And their “feelings” regarding those they call “Deplorable” run through a limited range from distaste, through loathing, to a visceral hatred.
Finally, these are people who have never in the last two and one-half centuries failed to be aroused by the siren song of “cleansing violence”. For the most part, they are “progressives” to begin with because it is the philosophy that tells them what they want to do naturally is not just “OK” but laudable.
Hence BLM, Antifa, and college campuses since October 7. Violence is their “speech” and they will use it whenever they feel like it.
So do not expect them to acquiesce to a “rule of law” which tells them “no”.
More likely, their response will look rather like a cross between Mao’s Red Guards- and Robespierre & Co.’s Terror.
I was thinking the same thing, about the “wounded animal”.
When these corrupt, immoral, lying vermin think that elections will really go against them and they could be looking at the possibility of losing power paying for their crimes, are they going to go all out with “malfunctioning” voting machines, putting opponents (Trump, etc.) in prison or even simply eliminating them (really, it’s just a coincidence that many of our Republican opponents happened to all drop dead from heart attacks), declare a new COVID emergency to shut things down, etc.
I really can’t see them gracefully, decently stepping away from power!
As to the wounded -and scared- animal, there is nothing more dangerous.
As to your second paragraph, yes absolutely to all of it, and more, when we consider the ultimate power and who wields it right now…
And gracefully, decently stepping away? Ha!
The only thing they respect, and the only thing that will work against them, is to meet power with power, violence with violence, overwhelming violence.

I figure they see no reason whatsoever to to give up their power. They do not believe in the Constitution and ignore any law. So shouldn’t they just do what they want. Voting be damned.
I’m pretty certain that the ‘progressives’ are panicking and will become, or alredy have become ‘regressives’ as in regressing to their ‘kill anyone who opposes us’ roots.
I feel fairly confident in predicting that the current *resident won’t make it to the next election and neither will the vice-*resident. Instead we’ll see killary and moochelle running as an ‘unbeatable’ pairing and the make believe ‘votes’ will be manufactured to make that happen, claiming that the increased numbers are from all of the 23 million ‘newly created citizens’ voting unanimously for them (whether they intended to or not).
I’m also fairly confident in the prediction that if the polls say that Trump is still going to beat them by too big of a margin to cheat their way past, he won’t make it to Election Day either and the fix will go in as planned.
It’s no better up here, the media just got handed a massive tax break byt the gov’t, but only the ones that Cabinet approves, so the attacks on our version of Trump, Mr. Poilievre, have reached ludicrous levels and are only going to get worse. The one difference is that since he knows he’ll never get any of the current liebral voters to stray away from the party of ‘free stuff someone else paid for’, he’s calling them out each time and making the alleged ‘journalists’ look even stupider than they manage by themselves.
sockboy has been busy stuffing the voter rolls with ineligible aliens that are still going to vote, whether they know it or not, and I’m afraid that we might also see political violence up here since the feral gimmies can’t stand the thought that someone might stop giving them thing to keep them quiet.
Whether or not that would go as far as physically getting rid of any opposition that looks like they might win, as Poilievre is polling now, remains to be seen but when a liebral is cornered they make a wharf rat look like a pacifist.
Dr. Jordan Peterson said he had faith in us.
One way or another we’ll get through this, but I can’t help but think it won’t be easy.
Those who would be our masters have had a very long time to entrench. They own the Presidency and more than enough of Congress, they invented the three letter extra-constitutional not-so-legal system and shovel our wealth into their pockets via the Federal Reserve while putting our great-grandchildren in hoc to pay for their votes. And to top it off they putrefied the educational system to make us stupid.
Things may be looking up, but it’s going to be a long slow slog just to undo the damage.
If you think about it, that’s how the USSR came apart. Gradually from about 1980 to 1990, then all at once in 1991.
If Ford had beaten Carter in 1976, the gradual part would probably have started three years earlier. Ford wasn’t the sort to bend over backward for Brezhnev.

A tripwire moment. We’ve had a number of those. With the nothing to see here media, I wonder.
I have faith. Look at the Nullification Crisis of the early 1800’s, the Civil War, WW I and II, the Cold War. Somehow we survived those. In these days, optimism is almost an act of rebellion. So, if I die, it will be on my feet, not my knees.
@Oldarmourer…let me address your second and third paragraphs please;
“I feel fairly confident in predicting that the current *resident won’t make it to the next election and neither will the vice-*resident. Instead we’ll see killary and moochelle running as an ‘unbeatable’ pairing…”
“I’m also fairly confident in the prediction that if the polls say that Trump is still going to beat them by too big of a margin to cheat their way past, he won’t make it to Election Day either and the fix will go in as planned.”
So, if that “pairing” comes to fruition (imo killary is dead and it will be moo with a free reign choice for vice), then no polls will matter as every lib and half of R’s will fall down at its feet in worship…a feet accompli, as it were.
The positive to come out of that horror show is that DJT will survive, somewhat, and go back to MariLago to re-retire, secure in the sickening knowledge that his time of influence has come and gone. But at least he didn’t get the Arkancide treatment of a double-tap of .22 to the back of the head.
No, it won’t be a “.22 to the back of the head” it’ll be a .223 from an AR used in aact of ‘domestic terrorism’ by a disgruntled trans-hating MAGA white supremacist’ so they can capitalize on that as an excuse to ban ‘the scary rifle’ and every other privately owned firearm, followed by door-to-door confiscation, thereby killing two birds with one stone and bringing the socialist dream that much closer.
That would be “the shot heard ’round the world” beginning of the civil war to end all wars. There would be the occasional skirmish between patriot and progressive, but the fiery battle will see the patriots ending the federal government as we now know it, returning it to what it was meant to be before the first civil war. Expect heavy casualties, especially among the anointed, appointed class in the D.C. area.

Then again, the bought and paid for media has been suggesting that Trump is too old and questioning his health while ignoring the *resident’s, so perhaps a convenient ‘accident’ or more likely a CIAish ‘natural causes’ concoction that will be completely supported in the ‘news’ while any autopsy findings are reported as ‘conspiracy theories’ ?
Nothing, and I mean NOTHING is beyond a liebral threatened with seperation from the public trough or any semblance of power they have decreed to be theirs and theirs alone.

Ain’t that the truth. The .22 double-tap to the brain stem is the old hit-man method of choice, a throwaway with a cobbled-up silencer; quick, quiet, instant death. But yeah, gotta get close. Of course our guy was working the rope line at an even last week so…
But as to your civil war quip, absolutely positively instant full on war regardless of range or method, take out DJT and it is on. And it’s not even about Trump.

I just read a poll saying 60 percent of voters, including a small majority of Democrats, believe owning a gun is necessary for self-defense, and a majority of households now have a firearm. (I’m too tired to go look it up tonight.)
That’s a lot of doors. And the 50+ of households don’t include those who have had a tragic boating accident.

If any other hot rod freaks are out there, you will have noticed that the Artiste has taken his brush to our SS and more so to our Caddy to a more correct size comparison…thanks Chris, little details matter to freaks. 🙂
Drove a ’70 Malibu SS and almost bought a ’69 Eldorado ragtop, I seem to remember the SS being a tad lower but it might have been lifted by one of the girls, no telling which one 😉 I remember the Caddy being a mite wider too but memories do get a little smushed around over the years…
Love the attention to detail, even in what I call the ‘watercolourish’ style.
Well this SS is a Nova not a Malibu, smaller and def a jacked up rear, but that ’70 of yours, assuming a 454, was in my view the king of the SS. Not really a Malibu btw; even though the base is the same the Malibu badging is gone from the Chevelle SS for ’70-’73. And that ’69 Eldo? Ugh. An esoteric exercise in big ‘n ugly? Ironically Jack’s ’63 is probably also an Eldorado prior to getting the “design” treatment, probably the same drunk/drugged wackjob designer that did to the ’57 Belair the disaster of ’58.

And then there’s this to remember:
“The most terrifying force of death, comes from the hands of Men who wanted to be left Alone. They try, so very hard, to mind their own business and provide for themselves and those they love. They resist every impulse to fight back, knowing the forced and permanent change of life that will come from it. They know, that the moment they fight back, their lives as they have lived them, are over. The moment the Men who wanted to be left alone are forced to fight back, it is a form of suicide. They are literally killing off who they used to be. Which is why, when forced to take up violence, these Men who wanted to be left alone, fight with unholy vengeance against those who murdered their former lives. They fight with raw hate, and a drive that cannot be fathomed by those who are merely play-acting at politics and terror. TRUE TERROR will arrive at these people’s door, and they will cry, scream, and beg for mercy… but it will fall upon the deaf ears of the Men who just wanted to be left alone.” – Author Unknown
It was not part of their blood,
It came to them very late
With long arrears to make good,
When the English began to hate.
They were not easily moved,
They were icy-willing to wait
Till every count should be proved,
Ere the English began to hate.
Their voices were even and low,
Their eyes were level and straight.
There was neither sign nor show,
When the English began to hate.
It was not preached to the crowd,
It was not taught by the State.
No man spoke it aloud,
When the English began to hate.
It was not suddenly bred,
It will not swiftly abate,
Through the chill years ahead,
When Time shall count from the date
That the English began to hate.
The English, the Scots, the French, the Spanish, the Japanese, and yes, the Americans, are all peoples who developed highly formalized methods of dealing with interpersonal disputes.
Mostly to avoid killing each other off in internecine quarrels, thus depleting the pool of available defenders when a foreign enemy came calling.
Push them too far, and they will revert to their roots.
It is usually presaged by them become very formal, and reserved, and quiet. Kipling’s last two verses say it best;
When the heir of all the ages “has the honour to remain,”
When he will not hear an insult, though men make it ne’er so plain,
When his lips are schooled to meekness, when his back is bowed to blows –
Well the keen aas-vogels know it-well the waiting jackal knows.
Build on the flanks of Etna where the sullen smoke-puffs float –
Or bathe in tropic waters where the lean fin dogs the boat –
Cock the gun that is not loaded, cook the frozen dynamite – But oh, beware my Country, when my Country grows polite!

Those animals who pack the streets wall to wall with their “protests” would be wise to research the Mossad method of dealing with such events. Suppressed bolt action .22 rifles with subsonic ammo are effective at disrupting those events, especially when kneecaps are the target of the day. Nobody actually sees or hears where the shots are coming from- – – -people just start having a lot of trouble walking. A .223 is just too noisy because the supersonic crack of the bullet can’t be very effectively muffled. Eley Tenex, on the other hand, just whispers its message!
