The left actually wants supremacy over everyone else. They believe wholeheartedly in their innate superiority and “fitness to rule”. They can tolerate no dissent, or any variance from their Great Plan for A Perfect World.
Most people trace their mania for power and control, enforced by violence, back to the French Revolution. In fact, it goes clear back to Plato’s Republic and before that, the Long Walls of Athens.
Once a self-anointed elite’ convince themselves that they are gods, they inevitably revert to the Prime Order of the Empire; Terror Must Be Maintained.
And that philosophy also inevitably attracts those who would do that sort of thing anyway. Just because they like it.
It could be argued that conservatism’s problem is that it is both insufficiently attractive to the power-hungry, and is also seen as a deadly threat by the genuinely power-mad.
Because neither sort will tolerate being told “No”.
Plato, a deadly influence to the Plymouth Colony, he almost had them starving to death with that “from each…to each” notion till Gov. Bradford grabbed them up by the stacking swivel.

The power of a bully is rooted in fear; fear *of* him by the weak and timid, and the fear *within* him that something or someone will come along and knock him down. And they will, eventually. Soon enough to prevent total destruction? We will see.
That lust for supremacy is a little different than the need for political power and control and violence that we know is rooted simply in “money”. When it comes to politics, just follow the money, always. And while historical reference is always helpful in planning defense, ultimately it’s just a matter of fighting back. And *that* is what strikes terror in the hearts of bullies of every sort, politicians, thugs, elites, God’s, whatever they may call themselves.
Just like in the schoolyard, just like in the comfy seats of Congress, and just like in the dark hearts and minds of global destructors everywhere, bullies are cowards. They are afraid. When they lose that fear *of* them, they are consumed by the fear *within* them. And historically, and let us hope contemporarily, their fear is justified and that is what will defeat them.

No wonder the modern rulers hate good rifles.
