You’d have to tuck it somewhere. Geologists are firm that the rock outside the existing figures is too rotten to hold a sculpture. Good enough for Biden, tho.

The rule is a President may only serve two CONSECUTIVE TERMS. 45-47 are not Consecutive.

Is there anything that requires the VP be eligible to run for President?

Originally, the VP was the runner-up to the President, so he had to meet the same requirements. (Article 2, section 1, clause 5.) Yes, the VP could have been from the party opposite to the President, but having the electors cast 2 votes generally meant that they’d vote for the two men from the same party. But that led to the unexpected result that Congress had to break the tie between Jefferson and his VP co-candidate Aaron Burr in the 1800 election.

So the 12th Amendment made electors cast two votes for President and VP, rather than two for President. They normally each get the same number of votes, but it’s clear which is the President. The VP candidate had to meet the same eligibility requirements to run as the President – and there was no way to replace a VP between elections, so no one could become VP without winning a VP election.

In the 22nd Amendment, Presidents were limited to 2 terms, give or take a half-turn less a day if they became President by being the VP and succeeding a dead or resigned President. But this was implemented by restricting whether they could run, not whether they could serve. VP’s still weren’t replaced.

The 25th Amendment allowed the President to appoint a replacement VP, with the approval of the Senate. But the writers forgot to consider that now there was a path to the Presidency without ever running for President or Vice President. Just 8 years later, Jerry Ford became President through that path, appointed VP by a President who was about to resign in disgrace. The Senate approved, I think because most of them considered him the most decent man in the Senate.

So it looks to me like the writers of these amendments failed to consider the effect of them together on the qualifications for a VP. If Harris had won the election and wasn’t a selfish narcissist (like everyone running for President since 1980), she could have been sworn in on January 20th, got Tampon Tim to resign on the 21st, appointed Obama VP on the 22nd, and IF the Senate approved (why would they?) resigned and gave Obama a third term. All legal, but requiring 51 Senators to concur, so it doesn’t seem likely.

We need another Amendment to close that loophole.

      Redleg

Sorry, the word “consecutive” doesn’t appear in the amendment. 22d Amendment (abridged) states: Section 1. No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice,

There is a debate that says that the 12th amendment would allow an ex-president to be appointed to the position of vice-president and still serve a third term IF the sitting president dies or steps down. That one would surely end up at the Supreme Court since it involves two Constitutional amendments.

So it’s over, the voices have been cheered raw, the parties are over, the hangovers have dissipated, now what ?
We saw one of the most pitiful campaigns since the last one
Millions of illegal votes didn’t make it to the boxes
The rampant cheating didn’t happen again
    The riots never happened
It’s like they didn’t want to win

    What’s coming ?

It’s virtually impossible for a sane person to think on the level the left does, but they always have a reason for things. What do they have planned ?

Iran is now claiming they can build a nuclear weapon in a week, if they used one would Trump be blamed ? even though ‘bama and byethen made it possible and paid them to build it.

    Something else ?

    Something nobody thought of ?

I’m starting to think that we might not even see the promised and expected riots and genuine insurrection on Inauguration Day, but something utterly catastrophic down the road a bit, maybe a year or two, just in time for mid-terms so the media can place the blame on Trump and hurt the Republicans for many years to come for electing him. There are still plenty of RINO’s in both Houses to go along with it, or even originate the plan.

Despots on the order we see in the globalist ‘elites’ will burn down the world to rule over the ashes so what gets ashed ?

    It’s quiet right now…too quiet.

I was trained to look for worst case scenarios, no matter how improbable, and plan for those as well as what’s expected; and the more fanciful the better, it makes for good exercise themes.

True the deranged musings of a bitter old man can be humorous too but the younguns forget…we’ve seen things they haven’t and hopefully never will, no matter how hard they try to make them happen, I pray they don’t get the chance.

BTW, keep your celebrities and ‘immigrants’ that were threatening to come up here if Trump won, we don’t need more mouths to feed, we’ve got our own problems and our election isn’t until next fall…assuming we’re permitted to have one.

The rent-a-riots didn’t show up because the dnc blew througha coupke of billion dollars in a couple of months and they’re millions in debt. They can’t afford to hire any mobs right now, but they’re saving for Inauguration Day…if there is one.

I read the Harris campaign blew through all of their money, even supposedly went $20million into debt but still managed to lose. That probably cuts into their “rent-a-mob” funds.

Also, he was WAY too cheerful in his speech about handing over the reins with peace and without malice. It may have been merely happiness at publicly sticking it to Barry and the Kamel, but that would only decrease his likelihood of going along with such a plan.

Beyond his massive ego lurks the big scary question: WHY? Why would he need to step down. Is there some medical reason? This would add fuel to the fire confirming that he was never mentally capable of fulfilling the role of President in the first place. This could bring in to question the legitimacy of everything that he’s done in the last four years. Do the democrats really want to poke that bear?

‘Dr’ jill’s massive ego prevents him from stepping down but there might yet be a State funeral before Inauguration Day…unless the dnc is saving plans to have big mike as the first ‘woman’ president…they already have the first lgbtqwxyz12@&*# elected member from DC so that milestone’s out.
