Canute wa trying to prove to his courtiers that he wasn’t all-powerful. A lesson that is lost on Boasberg.

Your image of Judge BoastBorg is better looking than IRL. In most pics, the demon shine is in his eyes.

It’s hard to fathom how the Boasbergs of the world don’t know that Trump is sitting on all “The Goods” (actual 2020 election result, Epstein client list, receipts of Deep State crimes etc etc etc) and that what we’ve seen so far is just pre-prep for the much more shocking big bombs they’ve lined up… How many of these clowns think they’re actually getting away with it? or – how many have turned state’s evidence?

SF writer David Brin defined magic as “the telling of plausible untruths”.
And Jordan Peterson has said, “Tyranny is the grip of the lie.”
Tyrants, you see, are witches, having laid with the Father of Lies (who of course doesn’t exist), practicing black magic towards the fall of mankind.
These witches, these black magicians, have been bearing false witness, claiming as a given their power to define reality by what they say, for so long they forgot it’s a lie.
Now the proles they thought they owned are waking up, and they just keep casting “SOMNIO” again and again, unable to see that the old spell just doesn’t work anymore.
They can’t believe that the stakes being erected in the public square, surrounded with oil-soaked kindling, are for them.
Of course they can’t believe it. That would mean they were wrong all along. “That’s impossible!” they cry. “We’re not the baddies!”

    Contrarian View

I haven’t heard any news about the Administration actually complying with these illegal injunctions. I hope they are ignoring them in practice. The judges are clearly in a conspiracy with the leaders of their party to create a crisis so that they can claim that the President and his team are lawless and must be constrained by a Dem majority in Congress. This is all about the midterm election. But we have seen that people respect, and follow, the strong horse. The MAGA team has to keep steady on its agenda, and even accelerate. Else it risks losing the respect of the people who voted them in.

“On the Beach” made me think of Nevil Shute’s novel, and the movie with Gregory Peck, and the Little Red Pills everyone was given to avoid the horrors of radiation poisoning.

      I thought of that, too.

Then I remembered the Royal Navy Board of Inquiry after the HMS Bounty mutiny.

Yes, they hanged the mutineers they caught. They also “promoted” Cmdr. William Bligh to assistant supervisor of the block works at Portsmouth Naval Dockyard. Where he was under constant supervision.

He never held a command at sea again.

They couldn’t “beach” him officially, which might have been seen by Parliament (and the King) as saying the mutiny was justified. But they could do it in a way that didn’t look like he was being cashiered.

I’m thinking that Boasberg and some other “activist” progressive judges may end up in similar positions.

        eon,

HM Armed Vessel Bounty was a cutter, and William Bligh held the rank of Commanding Lieutenant.

Subsequent to the mutiny, he commanded nine Royal Navy ships, including three Ships of the Line, was appointed Governor on New South Wales, and retired as a Vice Admiral of the Blue.

Not defending the man, but whatever you think of him, he was a survivor.

At the Battle of Camperdown he was the Captain of HMS Director, and seized the Dutch flagship Vrijheid and the Dutch fleet commander Vice Admiral Jan Willem de Winter, actions for which Bligh received the Naval Gold Medal.

At “Ye Duddles,” (aka the Adam Keeling House) and the oldest continuously occupied private residence in North America, a portrait of Admiral Bligh hangs over the fireplace.

Bligh was also commended on his navigating the small boat that held him and the rest of the people the mutineers did not kill out of hand. A journey of over 3,600 Nautical miles and 47 days adrift at sea.

        3,618 nautical miles
After being set adrift in Bounty’s launch by the mutineers, Bligh and those loyal to him stopped for supplies on Tofua, losing one man to native attacks. Bligh and his men reached Timor alive, after a journey of 3,618 nautical miles (6,700 km; 4,160 mi).

Whereupon, as Governor of NSW, he was again mutinied against, was arrested hiding under his bed (defended only by his daughter), and eventually returned to England in disgrace.
Do we see a pattern forming here, children?

Had to research it. She insults him by calling him arrogant, delusional and someone who is trying to control the uncontrollable (King Canute The Great – actually history has him explaining to his courtiers that he couldn’t control the tide (so somehow history/slang twisted him into something else).

Next statement: “Stay in your lane” – do your job and quit trying to give yourself more power than you actually have. Then “or be on the beach” (took me a bit of research) … retire.
