Well … if I were in the vicinity of the DD Ranch … my 4WD would be going to the car wash, then off-road to get dirty, then car wash, followed by some more off-road.
Dunno if anyone is following the happenings in the Great White North, but…
One of the major Telecom providers went down this AM
Nobody can or will say why, maybe a test for when the gov’t goes too far ?
We’re the heaviest user of Interac/debit cards in the world, they all went offline, including many bank ATM’s
I ws in the grocery store and they had signs up saying ‘cash or credit cards only’ but the ATM’s were offline and I had little cash with me althogh I do keep some in the house for just such an emergency and will keep more from now on. The credit card did work though, they missed shutting that off 😉
Oddly enough, at walmart the debit system was working, apparently they don’t use that provider.
I never lost internet since I dumped tha tcompany years ago andf the one I use was still up, but others lost internet, cell phones, home phones, cable tv, etc.
The gov’t was completely offline, funny you’d think for what they spend on it the Intranet would have a dedicated connection instead of going through a private company, but when politicians own stock in said company…
A partia llist of what went offline:
Rogers, Fido, Chatr, TekSavvy
Interac debit and e-transfer
911
Telehealth
Fares at transit systems
ArriveCAN
Service Canada centres
Schools and libraries
and much much more
Before you say ‘that’s too bad for you’ ask yourself what would happen if the EBT and other welfare cards stopped working for a couple of days…and consider that communications and the money supply will be the first things to go if the people start to push the politicians too hard and we’ve been irritating the boy king lately over his castro like actions and jailing of people who disagree with him.
Been stocking up for just such an eventuality 😉
Our ‘masters’ are going to try and show us who’s ‘boss’ before too awful long and then need to be reminded just who pays their salaries.
The ones at the top have scammed enough that politics is just an exercise in exercising power for them but there are a lot at the bottom who still have mortgage payments and can be tossed IF we ever have another election, which I’m beginning to doubt.

Had that happen to us two weeks ago, though we know why. Microburst took out 13 of our “new” metal utility poles (13 of the 26 that replaced the wooden ones another microburst took out in 2003) within sight of our ranch. Took out fiber to our anchor town. Took four days to restore Internet, while businesses in town went “cash only” or just closed. Great dry run for prepping, though the 90s° night temps were a bit to endure…
Outage was bad enough that even normal telephone service was impacted. Kinda glad I didn’t have to call 9-1-1 for my ancient neighbour whose CPOD has him on oxygen full time…

Truck’ll be real dirty by the time I get there, probably take ’em all afternoon…
Inspired by the Cool Hand Luke discussion earlier?
Brewster County, TX is reporting its largest traffic jam, ever, just north of the Double D, just south of nowhere,
Except, in this case,
What we have heah is…an irresistible urge to “communicate”.
Jo, Kiko, and Mari?
Tucker only thought he was in a target rich environment with the cons running before.
Skye and Mia ought to wander out and lend a hand.
Sam is missing out on a superb campaign opportunity. Clean government and all….
So Chris, the Bonnie Blue / Stars and Stripes bikinis will be available in the the DBD clothing line this summer?
Along with that sheer nightgown Sam was almost wearing the other evening?
Shouldn’t there be a 60’s vintage baby blue Cadillac pulling up for service?
All in good time…All in good time.
Zar Belk!
*Two* of those incredibly shapely teenage bonnie blue string bikinis to ogle while his block-long daddy’s Caddy gets a bath?
Whatever will poor Jack do?
And, whatever will poor Jack have done to him?
Er, take a vow of celibacy …
How many hands is that horse anyway? Affects the cost, don’t ya know…
Entreprenurial spirit! Way to go, ladies!
‘Murica for sure.
One glimpse of that wash and the cons will all come running.
Word!

Anyone else feel like joining the Lone Star?
Lotta flag salutes gonna happen.

Hang in there, armourer.

My first thought when I read the strip was “Horses don’t have windows!”
Halfway through the responses I suddenly remembered Sheriff Tucker rides a 4WD “horse.”
I must be gettin’ old…
Horses absolutely love being washed.
Donkeys, not so much.
