I think we have to ban skateboards after hearing some of the stories coming out of the insurrection. Those things are dangerous weapons. Skateboards kill people, people don’t kill people. No one needs a skateboard.

Then we have the LRAD, (Long Range Acoustic Device) a focused sound transmitter that can make very painful noises at (classified) range. It was used to great effect in in the Sandbox to clear streets before our units moved through. Stand beside it and hear a buzzing noise. In front and you’ll be holding your hands over you ears, begging to turn it off.
Federal military not deployed. Yet. If called upon to quell riots, or ordered to put down an insurrection, I’ve no doubt we’d see these live tested. Data, you know….

I saw several mentions about that. It seems to me that it would be fairly fast/easy for city workers to do a quick “sweep” daily to ensure no such unexplained “piles” are left in place.
Over the years, I’ve worked at major events a number of times and that was standard procedure. City works will know where all work permits are… and they usually know their city well…
At really big events, we used to have the City Works guys tack-weld the sewer grates in place… a great short-term solution…
