I dunno, sounds like Grandma Sam is down with it and Grandpa Zed ain’t too bothered by it, so maybe a down-home Southern-style combo wedding/baby shower right there at the ranch?
It would be njce to know if the young man is husband materialwho will stick around. Wild Oats are a common crop. The young man might want to experience more of what he has encountered. Why buy the cow when the milk is free. Ask Sam’s sister how that works.
It’s my understanding that Jack was a football player (quarterback?) at UT Austin but gave it up to help with the ranch. So I would bet that he probably had the opportunity to partake of several if not many, offers of female companionship. And since it was Austin, there may have been some offers from the limp-wristed contingent as well.
Seems to me she mentioned earlier that both girls were on the pill ?
Nothing is 100% effective though, even abstinence if you subscribe to the ‘new’ testament.
I wouldn’t assume it’s an automatically successful crop sowing here… unless the plot requires it 😉
Big ranch, room for lotsa kids, not a huge problem feeding them all, especially given the billionaire in the background, sets up more storylines 18 or 20 years down the road…let’s just hope any kid doesn’t end up with purple hair and succumb to media pressure to start lopping OEM parts off.

Hmm, what’s becoming?
Oh GOODY!! A Baby Shower!!!
Now the white shotgun?
Either the white shotgun, or…
Vegas, baby!

Question is, will it be a little Zack or a Kammy?
Guessing they can make their home at Cates place, young love, childhood innocence, self-sufficiency and personal freedom. big sky and open range.
I can think of worse ways to start out in life, sounds pretty good at end of life too.
and Grandmama isn’t too far away at need.
I think it’s time to task Jack’s mettle – triplets.
Question is, will it be twins (since he did ‘again’) ?
Ooo. Zack AND Kammy!
I’m thinking that what Grandma Sam is saying hasn’t absorbed thru Grandpa Zed’s thick skull yet…
And best hurry with the quick-and-simple wedding before that 8 months baby becomes a “hurry up and say “I Do” the baby’s coming NOW! “

It’s amazing how something that takes 9 months for Cow or Countess, an eager young bride can accomplish in 6.
Robert Heinlein had it right.
…As he was on most things. I named my son Anson after Heinlein’s middle name. You could call me a fan.
Wade is looking down smiling…
A different shotgun wedding:

I believe Sam has Japanese heritage. It might be kinda of fun to see some more Shogun instead of Shotgun for a future wedding …

“18 to 20 years down the line”
You forget the time that time is different in the strip…
Seems like the Cates ranch and the “Double-D” are soon to merge…
Seems they already did in some sense…
Funny how often in Mergers & Acquisitions both sides end up getting screwed.
Not unwanted, but unplanned. Been there.
Best thing about being a grandparent is handing them back.
