Me-262 was more prone to flame-out if you advanced the throttles too fast.

Outstanding art in the rondel. (Not really nose art, but I suspect the nose art to be equally spectacular. Need a higher resolution version to be certain.
Very apropos that the Republican Air Force is flying Sopwith Camels.
I suspect that Chris’s original photo is the one with Air Commodore Arthur Henry “Harry” Cobby of the Australian Flying Corps. 29 confirmed kills in less than a year flying an aircraft with a hard won reputation of being a man-killer, particularly of novice pilots.
However, it’s inherent instability made it extremely maneuverable in the hands of a competent aviator, and the twin synchronized Vickers Machine Guns were a deadly marvel.
Take another look, MD. Those are Liberators — B-24J models if I’m seeing correctly. What they may have lacked in ruggedness they more than made up by flying higher, faster and farther while carrying a heavier bomb load than the B-17.
They weren’t called “The Flying Dump Truck” for nothing: a -17 could be easily trimmed to fly hands off, even in formation; no one ever flew a -24, they drove it — hands on all the time.

Spot on. There was one named “Wingo Wango”. En route to Ploesti in WWII, it suddenly began to uncontrollably rise up, fall down, rise up… It crashed in the Med Sea before it got over Greece.
Some of the pilots observing this felt the pilot of the WW had gotten “unwatchful” for just long enough for the instability while so heavily loaded to overcome everything.

An uncle of mine flew out of Courtland Army Airfield to the UK as a crew chief on a B-24.
B-24H. Same nose as the J to accommodate the Consolidated power nose turret, but with an additional side window behind the nose glazing on both sides, intended to give the bombardier greater visibility. These windows were deleted on the later J as they were considered redundant.
It was the earlier B-24D that had a fully-glazed nose “greenhouse” without a power turret.
The Navy PB2Y-1 version had a different spherical power nose turret made by Erco. This feature carried over to the single-tail PB2Y-2 Privateer.
OK, I see an ammo box in front of a suit of armor’s helmet, a woman’s back, and behind her there’s a donkey’s tail sticking out to the left with a hoof in the air on the right. I’m stopping guessing what the heck that design is now.
Ohhh, that’s just excellent Chris. In the third frame—“Here they come!’—the Democrat jet fighters are WW II Nazi Me 262’s. Fits perfectly! Nazi jet fighters for America’s de facto Nazi socialist party!
…And their attack pattern is classic german WWI ace-preferred .
Or is it the first TIE fighter attack on the Falon, from SW4: A New Hope?…
Either way, that third panel is a keeper for my Muir Best Of archive,
Category :’Breathtaking’, for perfect balance of historical veracity, visual composition/balance, story fit, and just plain ‘gas’, according to 2 granddaughters.
(i think ‘gas’ is current teen usage approximating what ‘cool’ is for Boomers.)
A designer has created 100,000 artifically-intelligent headshots leaving the internet freaked out over how realistic they are.
Many of the forms look so realistic viewers claim they could put licensed stock photo companies and models out of business.

Sure look real to me. And soon there’ll be an interface, punch in what you want and it’ll generate the face. Very little time left before you can make a photo, then films, of anyone doing anything to someone who might not exist. Photographic evidence shall be dead, but there’ll be a lot of 1st Amendment-protected humiliating “revenge pr0n” that can’t be stopped because the participants aren’t real, even if they do look a lot like [fill in politician(s) name(s)].
Excellent second panel description of the current state of the RINO GOPe RepubliTard Never Trumper spineless “hands across the aisle” party. Barry G would disown them all in a heartbeat.
As an old Naval Flight Officer I definitely love the airplane art. Really well done. I agree we need much more detail on the bomber nose art. That would truly make a spectacular campaign ad. Or fundraiser art, just sayin’.
I thought that looked familiar. I could zoom in and make out what I’d assumed was a handgun for Sam and an old-time fused bomb for Skye. Still don’t know what they’re sitting on though…

I bet you saw many carrier landings. My Dad was War Ops Officer for CTF 77 during Vietnam
The doctrine of Ecumenism is infecting the world. By contrast, a repeating theme throughout the Bible is, “Come out and be separate”.
If you adhere to any principles (not being blown hither and thither by every wind of doctrine) you’re an “extremist”.
If you uphold the Bible as the word of God (Sola Scriptura), you’re a “fundamentalist”.
If you don’t want to be allied with the Beast, you’re a “separatist”.
Here’s to the extremist, fundamentalist separatists!

Do they come with leather boots…
They need thigh high leather boots
Pamela always has the perfect finishing touches.
Over purple loose-knit leg-warmers…
Good choice of ME262’s for the dumbocrat fighters!
It was that or the MiG 15…
Me-262 was more prone to flame-out if you advanced the throttles too fast.

Where are the Spitfires?
Outstanding art in the rondel.
Yeah, but what in the heck are those two ladies sitting on? It looks like a stainless steel toilet to me.
To Sam:
How cold is it?
Full stiff nipple!
Love the WWII aircraft. Their uniforms are da bomb.
But Lancasters on a daylight mission? Should have been B-24’s, or better yet B-17’s (Much better odds of making it home. See these pics of the “All American III” https://www.warhistoryonline.com/military-vehicle-news/incredible-images-of-damaged-b-17-bombers-that-miracilously-made-it-home.html

I must agree, those uniforms are fabulous. Practical? Not so much…

Shit, how did that happen?
Supposed to be this:
The R strategy; OWG’s asleep at the switch while the D’s self-destruct…
Just might work.
Being as I have just proven my status as an OWG myself, I sure hope so.
Did those bombers start out as Liberators? The glazing under the nose seems odd, but necessary given the position of the nose turret.

clear ether
eon
PB4Y-1 and 2… PB2Y were four-engine flying boats like the two-engine PBY’s. (Dad flew all three during his time “in”)
Back A Rack
(some slogans write themselves)
Hehe. That’s awesome. Although I’d rather Front-A-Rack.
How about “Front And Back”?
hehehe
Yep. Looking for the “nose” art. That should make a fine poster [campaign poster, of course.].
Were the 24s upgraded with turboprop engines?
Still love the classic conformation.
Just a thing, but the Republican Air Force are parked in the coatroom. They only support the “Koch Succours”.
Oh, Panel #6 needs some more “tail” for the 24s. Personal preference for me.
“Koch Succours”
I see what you did there.
And I wholeheartedly approve!
(not that you need it)
Ach, late model B-24s with the nose turret had glazing under the nose added for the bomb sight.
OK, I see an ammo box in front of a suit of armor’s helmet, a woman’s back, and behind her there’s a donkey’s tail sticking out to the left with a hoof in the air on the right. I’m stopping guessing what the heck that design is now.

It could be both.
It’s said George Lucas drew heavily on WWII film footage when composing his scenes for the Original Star Wars movie.
I want to see Chris draw P-47 Thunderbolts! 😉
“Here They Come”
– another fitting campaign slogan (and double D entendre)
The Uncanny Valley is being quantum leaped.

Excellent RAH reference.
“The Moon Is A Harsh Mistress”
aka Michelle, aka Simon Jester… Wonder how that worked out when Dejah Thoris suggested waking him up by putting him “in bed” with Teena..?
In World War II, the nose art on a B24 would have been of a woman. Therefore, the nose art for the B24s of our hero’s should be of men.

Looks to be an unclothed version of the Sam/Skye Spy Vs. Spy in trench coats pic from one of the past fundraisers.

Heh. From Stephen Miller on Twitter:
Astounding…What are the chances you will see this particular Trump tweet on fake media…”This is the real and only story”
B24’s versus ME-262; what a classic match up!!! 🙂
The most famous pilot of all – Douglas Bader – showed just how wicked that humour could be after the war, when he gave a talk at a posh girls’ school.
He said: “So there were two of the f***ers behind me, three f***ers to my right, another f***er on the left…”
At this point the headmistress panicked. She said: “I think you should know, girls, that the Fokker was a type of German plane.”
Bader replied: “Don’t know about that. These chaps were flying Messerschmitts.”
