Roberts should be disbarred. There is now more than an appearance of malfeasance, of influence. That can’t stand. And it’s past time to put some politicians to the gallows. The political body will never cleanse itself; they protect everyone in order to protect themselves. We’ll never fix anything as long as these bastards are allows to vote themselves special privileges. Like a hidden slush fund for paying off victims of congressional sexual abuse, etc. The scum has to be removed by force. Then we need to impose term limits. No single person may “serve”, in any combination of positions, for any amount of cumulative time greater than the President’s term. And it should probably be less.
Some believe that the best form of government is the Benign Despot, but that is just a fantasy. Given the natural imperative to game any system no system is immune to corruption.
Governments of any kind will be corrupted, and this time it’s our turn.
Nothing short of a miracle is going to save this one.
Sure, we may hobble along with the remnants of the Republic creaking along on momentum alone, but the Founders were riding the wave of an Intellectual Revolution which relied on an elite well versed in the art of Reason, and we have no hope of repairing the damage in this Age of Unreason.
