On July 5th, 1926 Silent Cal waxed loquacious; he was speaking on the 150th Anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. These were among his words:

In reading Silent Cal’s words we see where the progressive movement is trying to push us, but they were bought by the illusion of progress through sex. The alphabet agency where gays and lesbians are now lumped together with every other deviation from heterosexuality, has become the loudest hue and cry of the left and their version of freedom. Talk about being hung up on sex, you dangle (heh) sex issues in front of them and all other reason seems to disappear. The left wants limited freedom of speech, removal of the 2nd Amendment, so Silent Cal was absolutely right. As progs blind themselves to seeing the tyranny of their ilk. Fooled that it is enlightenment. The progressives show disdain for religion while wrapping themselves in new religions, where the government rules, and they go through their own Spanish Inquisition of their own beliefs and torture you mentally and socially to accept their views or have your way of life run over.
The lessons of history show mankind doesn’t change much, the labels are different, the “causes” have different focuses, the means to greed for power leads down the same old pathways.
I think that is true of the leaders and politicians, but I think the useful idiots believe they are freedom loving, which makes it sadder. I don’t think the minions think so much as emote everything. I have a friend who is full bore leftist progressive, and she seems to truly believe her views stand for freedom, and she gets angry and bizarre whenever it is pointed out in examples where they are totalitarians, she then goes off on how it is necessary to limit rights because of the hate. It makes my head spin trying to understand the convoluted logic she uses to make her points.
I think that is right as far as their self image goes. But what they seem totally oblivious to is that they themselves are subject to and in service to, a level of tyranny above them that will use them until they are no longer useful, and then kill them.
OG is also right, that their “enlightened” ones are aware but that the simple (in both senses of the word) majority they seek to create to hand over to their lords for the endarkenment that is the true goal are the ignorant masses, thinking they themselves will then be the privileged and protected class. Wrong. They are all just useful idiots.
But more and more the dark lords are showing themselves as their minions at every level are beclowned by DJT and the deplorables. I prefer it that way…expose yourselves to the light of day you evyl bytches, so that you can see yourselves be destroyed by the true awakening and enlightenment of what is still the moral and patriotic majority of this republic and the entire world. Our state newspaper (which, ironically, used to be named the “Arizona Republican”), regularly provides their opinion on which candidates their readers should vote for in both primaries. Their Republican choice is invariably the most leftist of the bunch. An endorsement by the paper is usually the kiss of death for that candidate.

So to start with, “What is a good Beer?”
Beer? Germany? Lucky a’hole (said with envy).
Any beer you get will be utterly delicious compared to US mass beers (microbrews is a different story).
