Nostradamus’ prediction that “those of the northern pole” (the USA and Russia) would become allies vs. the Third Antichrist (which he identified with Islamism) rather got knocked for six when Putin and the mullahs decided to join forces.

Of course this could turn out to be another Molotov-Ribbentrop pact, too. I.e. a matter of who stabs who in the back first.

Just because you’re getting ready to attack, there’s no rule that prohibits the other fellow from having a go at you first.

The only two things Islam and Communism/Socialism have in common is first the idea that the peons must be ruled with an iron fist, and second the fact that neither is capable of unifying enough to set up the world government their philosophy envisions.

It’s smart to make the enemy of your enemy your ally. But it’s stupid to think that this alone makes you friends, or the alliance permanent. Often your ally is your _next_ enemy.

A whole series of “his” dogs hated his ass.

I have made very important business decisions based on my dogs’ dislike of someone, God gave them a damn near infallible instinct and it has worked to my advantage several times. And I will take their advice this time too.

Can’t take credit (or blame) for this, but it’s been postulated that the first Mrs. Brandon’s car crash with the children was intentional on her part. Trying to save them from the horrors she saw coming.

I could believe that the laptop and diary could have been semi-intentional for that matter. In fits of despair and addiction, the train of thought could have been “Screw him, I don’t care who knows what he’s made me do. It serves him right…”

Sorry, but the real Putin could care less about such. He was a member of the KGB knitting circle for years.

You may need to explain the “knitting circle” reference. Not everyone in in the loop on that one.

Very funny indeed. Good one, Chris! Just a couple of points: Russia is NOT our enemy (i.e. of the American people). Its government does not seek to cancel us, control us, attack us, enslave us, or even lie to us. (Think about it: What government DOES do those things and hold those positions).

Secondly, the name of the game in diplomacy is quid pro quo. Surely there’s a way to make a deal with Russia where their LEO satellites aren’t being jammed over Brewster County…in return for what?

At one time, I had the entire Declaration of Independence memorized. I eventually reduced that to the first half; From “When in the course of human events” to “Let Facts be submitted to a candid world” I haven’t said it much lately and I stumbled a bit when I recited it last night but got through it with a few mistakes. At 72, it is harder to remember.

socialism and comunism like islamism have exactly the same goal, to eliminate anyone who doesn’t do things the way they want them to.
If they’re not actively trying to destroy your particuar group it simply means that they have a temporary use for you to weaken or defeat another group and they’ve agreed to save you for last. The oart that eludes most of these groups is that eventually they will either be last or lose their usefulness and be jumped up the line a little and there’s no complaining when you’re dead or enslaved. The liebral ‘governments’ in most of the Western countries would not only sacrifice their citizens to stay in power, they’d sacrifice their own family…and many already have.

I was stationed in West Germany during the mid-70’s. I find it beyond irony that I now find Putin far more believable than our current Resident. Not saying I always agree with Putin.
