DBW I’m not all that certain that certain I agree with your thesis. To begin with, I believe that the ones in power on the left (who, I am convinced, are less ideologues than utterly pragmatic political opportunists) know that to gain and retain power they must foment some degree of rebellion among the masses. They must convince sufficient numbers of the masses that their lives are in the dumper and that the Left has the true way to make their lives better. They, therefor must either create conditions which mimic decay or convince the masses that, appearances to the contrary, things really are bad. To accomplish their desired ends they never have to fool ALL of the people ANY of the time. All they need to do is fool ENOUGH of the people ENOUGH of the time.
I would agree that some on the left do enjoy watching the world burn if only because they have already figured out how to blame the conflagration on their political enemies. I figure Pelosi, Schumer, Wacko Waters et al understand that if they let the fire get out of hand it is very likely to be their tail feathers getting singed.

I think there is more to come. The ‘fed up’ syndrome is like an itch that wants scratch, a crick in the neck that won’t stop bothering you.
