Gonna take a minute for Sam to get used to that “Grandmaw” handle, huh, Chris? I c an see Zed now, teaching his Grandchild the finer points of loading quality long-range ammo… the “Cock-roach” legend will be continued…
One little thing about that shop idea of yours. Muscle cars don’t need to be repaired. See, they’re a lot like you. They need to be cherished and preserved.
Make that eight decades, but the rest is spot on. 😉
Wife is from the 50’s so no argument there. 🙂

All I know is that it was more fun being in my 20’s during the 70’s than it is being in my 70’s in the 20’s.

Well stated – I was born at a very young age at about the same time and I totally agree – our time here was well met.
An aside … sometimes it is too easy to take money from the young. At a local cantina last Saturday the band leader asked who could answer this dilemma: what horse was the inspiration for a chart topping song in the 70s? $5 per guess went into a pot. I waited until the pot grew to a nice amount and answered – “America: A horse with no name”.
Easy peasy …

Amen. Just goes to show that those Happy Days had more opportunity and fun than any time since. We built a SCCA A sedan in our dads garage and won 1st. places and Champion ship. Now days you better have “mad” money.

I should have read further. Gregory reminded me. It was a 67 Mustang and was called a horse with no name because we never did name it.

Rear ends need adjusted every so often.
Kinda like Sam in that way too.
All that torque potential… I’ll be in my bunk.
Leggo the guilt, Unca Walt. The world had already blown up back in 39. It just didn’t drag the USA into it until 41.

I’d like to take this chance to thank our American brothers for coming to our aid in 1917…when the war started in 1914…and again in 1941 when it started in 1939, late as usual but still much appreciated 😉

Punkin’ recovering well, cuter by the day. Time for an ultrasound look-see at the lil’ one(s)?
@eon…”I have seen the past, and it work(ed). FIFY 🙁
Also, man that super-rich shit is amazing; Don’s esq’s skipped right on by legal chain of ownership (little Jack) and straight to his (unmarried) Mama…impressive!
Ahhh, maybe. I think most states have common law marriage on their books, I think the details are variable and often somewhat twisty.
Depending on Texas law and all the details, Kiko might or might-not be able to win through the courts. I’m sure you can count on the Don’s lawyers to determine the best possible path forward.
Likely not to be part of the story unless Chris has some interesting plot arc planned involving some evil-doing person/agency trying to take the Cates ranch.
Law at least in The Fla is pretty clear,
Child is conceived before the father’s death,
It becomes the heir,
irrelevant to marriage, and interestingly,
superceding the unmarried birth mother.

You know the old saying in one of those songs.
You have to “get back to where you once belonged”.
If only. Javelon ain’t come up with the Time Machine quite yet, and those 50 years are dead and gone (another old song), and many of us with it soon enough.
What we can do now is try to enable our heirs to live and breathe free…much as Jack and the Don, and Zed and Red are working to do for theirs.

BTW, y’all know that Red (aka Chris) is pointing straight at US with that accusatory tone…”She’s so you!”
Hmmmmm- – – – – -I’ve heard that the Brits has less than kind thoughts toward their American allies who showed up to help out- – – – -“Overpaid, oversexed, and over here!”- – – – -I believe that was a pretty frequent comment! At least they were more appreciative than the French- – – -“Retreat- – – -Surrender- – – -Collaborate!”
One of my uncles was a USN PT boat commander in England (not the SW Pacific).
When they showed up in late 1942, the Royal Navy Coastal Forces (73 foot Vosper MTBs) said, “took you long enough”.
Then they saw the U.S. Navy “PT boats”. 80 foot Elcos, triple Packard engines, 40mm Bofors guns fore and aft, .50 calibers everywhere else. Since there wasn’t anything worth a torpedo, they left those ashore and loaded mines on the drop–collars port and starboard, very handy for ambushing German armed lighter and E-boat convoys along the Dutch coast.
The American “torpedo boats” packed more firepower than a British Fairmile gunboat.
My uncle just told them “Well, you know, we wanted them (the Germans) to notice us when we got here”.

Imma get this engraved on my Glock.
From that third panel (…commune…) I thought she was still concussed.
Had me going there too for a sec. 🙂
While I knew Don was going to stop anything from happening to the ranch, it’s still nice to read it.

They never mention the war material we were sending them well before our troops showed up. Through U boat infested waters.
