This is probably to pay Xi back for all the money they have given him and all them on the Chinese payoff in our government. They just pre-paid for our oil. Don’t expect to see any relief in our need for oil, gas, or diesel. Also, look into Joe making a deal to spend money on Venezuela oil. Everyone else Joe owes comes first.

Oooh, how I love the background in that first panel. Evocative in itself, but it also really compliments the foreground too (and even Dawg — am I seeing that correctly? — behind her has matching panels to compliment the red hair).
And even if I were to live another twenty years, I would still be having nightmare images of that marionyet in my head — brrr-rrr-rrr. Talk about an iconic image…
“Complement” — yeah, I suppose…maybe. I’ve known the difference, but I’ve also always thought the distinction in some cases (this one as a good example) rather fuzzy. The background certainly “completes” the picture in, well, making it a picture (though if she were sitting there by herself without a background, she’d still look pretty darn good and “complete” as is 🙂 ).
But, I don’t know, there is just a strong sense in my mind that the background also “compliments” her (as admittedly personification on my part), not so much by “completing her” (though it completes the picture overall), as more like “pointing” to her by its contrasting muted tones (and complementary colors — so there! 🙂 ) as if to say “look how stunning she is sitting here! I’m sitting in the background so as not to compete with her as the center of attention.”
But of course you’re absolutely right in a technical sense, and my inner mathematician child as the oldest wants to agree, but his rebellious brother — with a distinct second-child syndrome — wants to run his hand in circles over the aesthetic jigsaw puzzle pieces and mess up the edge pieces that just got the border neatly completed only a few minutes ago. I’m sure you know the type — he’s in the corner for a time-out right now, but we can expect more from him later, I’m guessing.
(And as a partial explanation of the wandering aspect of this post, I originally wanted to double major in college in math and art, but I was too lazy a student, so I backed off in my junior year and only majored in the easier of the two, mathematics. But I did go the “abstract math” route, as opposed to the “applied math” side — so some of the art major side still crept into that bit, I suppose…)

ULTRA-MAGA TOP DAWG JTC
And if Chris’ rendition of JoePuppet freaks you out, do NOT go and watch Jeff Dunhams new Brandon act with Angry Old Man Walter, he nails it!
That old manual water pump when frozen during Maine winters can be hard to prime, ask me how I know. No ice within miles of that hot lady. Oh, forgot, now gotta go back and ‘read’ the toon : )
I accidently clicked “First” instead of “Previous” ‘toon and noticed that DBD just had its 20th Anniversary on Nov 1st. Happy belated anniversary Chris (and DBD).

But I thought only deplorables said those kinds of things that the “elites” either never bothered to consider or decided were not important.
The Gubmint will always have fuel for domestic suppression, the Russians will send all they need, as long as it isn’t shared with the Ukraine.
Nah, Putin isn’t in a mood to do Brandon any favors.
Maybe Xi can spare some cheap Chinese diesel.

Complement, as to the color and design…
But yeah that Dawg does look like he might toss a compliment Red’s way…never know with the AI bots from the laboratory of Javelon.
