Now we got country and western on the bus
R and B, we got disco in eight tracks and cassettes in stereo
We’ve got rural scenes & magazines
We’ve got truckers on the CB
We’ve got Richard Pryor on the video
And we had Jackson Browne. Loved that song. Recorded live like the rest of the ROE album. Had it on 8-track 🙂 ironically at the end of the line for them. This cut was recorded on my birthday in ’77 forty years ago next week (gulp).
These days 8 tracks means somebody is using her 7+1 audio card oddly.

Whatever he’s thinking, it’s not an 8-track cassette he’s looking at.

He’s eating an ice cream bar. Blue Bell, right?
(‘Cause they can get it. I’ve been stuck without since that stupid lysteria thing. :(( )

I don’t know why you can’t get Blue Bell. We’ve been able to buy it since shortly after the big scare.

Though, I’m confused…
Is he saying 8-tracks are the future? Or that children are 8-tracks?
What with the endless looping of “Why?” and “Are we there yet?” and “That’s not fair!”, no rewinding necessary…….
😉

And, anyone else catch that she almost misses taking care of the kids?
She’s not there, just yet.

No, no, no. Not that she “almost misses” (do I REALLY want to be here doing this?), but that, if she hadn’t started turning her head and life around, she would have “almost MISSED” the time and opportunity to raise her own children.
Skye is coming along rather speedily.

I had a double take on that also. Hopefully it’s the regret realization.
She DID “miss” a lot!
PaulS, yeah there’s a joke in there somewhere about Sun-day, with the foreboding darkness of the eclipse throwing shade, but I’m too dim 🙂 to see it.
Speaking of shades though, it’s baaack in the ‘toon, and maybe a short one is all Chris’ thumb had in it.

Children are the future and hopefully they will not repeat the mistakes of the past.
As the previous crops are rewinding those mistakes treating them as if they are the first to think, or should I say feel, what needs to be torn asunder.
Retreads always fail and will blow up in a person’s face. Silly peoples.
They never learned the lessons of the ego and the id, and what hides in the dark.

There’s a world of difference between a one-track mind and the laser-like focus of a determined man… Come on, Sam… you know better!!

Miss those times, and maybe that’s all Zed really means this time.
Could be. One never knows.
