Governor Abbott has too often been sketchy in the past, along with some good that he has done.
Isn’t having the Texas National Guard help the invaders similar to if the Alamo surrendered to Santa Ana, and them helped move Santa Ana’s armies across Texas to end the desires or the Texicans, Mexicans, Texans, old time Spanish settlers, and others desiring to keep a free Texas unbowed to global domination?
People living in Texas Have wanted self determination. That included the Comanches for whom it did not end as well as it should have. They deserved better, as does modern day Texas. And as does modern day USA,

The States do retain their traditional power to prosecute trespassing on private property.
