Kiko is growing into her role, much as Zed grew into Wade’s cowboy boots.
I’m guessing that Javier would truly appreciate Kiko’s rapidly developing mechanical skills, and would love to have her “blind him with science,” again. (“She failed me in machinery….”)
A toast times seven to a true warrior: Ukrainian Air Force Colonel Oleksanser “Grey Wolf” Oksanchenko (aka the Ghost of Kiev) who came out of retirement to fight for his country and was shot down yesterday after recording his SEVENTH air to air kill (five kills makes you an Ace) against the Russian Air Force.
He logged one more takeoff than landing, and would not have wanted to die any other way.

My favorite quote, from my favorite poem.
“Then out spoke brave Horatius, the Captain of the Gate:
‘To every man upon this Earth death cometh, soon or late.
And how can a man die better, than facing fearful odds
For the ashes of his fathers and the temples of his gods?”
God bless Col. Oksanchenko and the country that he died defending.

A toast to the patriot.
Putin is not wise in creating heroes and enmity by his actions as he is.
It is not just Russians who defend the Motherland. During the 1920s around Lenin’s time. the Soviets sent 3 armies at 3 separate times that were supposed to subjugate Ukraine. those 3 armies were never heard from again.
The Soviets eventually sent a huge multiple army force into Ukraine and won after suffering huge losses. I am not saying a repeat will occur, but history often does rhyme.
The Russians currently owe about 1/3 of their foreign trade to arms exports. If Ukraine shows any kind of progress against Russia, they will lose a huge chunk of that market just by loss of reputation.
If the 4th generation small nuclear plants take off, Putin will lose his energy market as well.
Russia was already a 2nd World nation economically, having an economy about the size of Italy’s.
I think Putin’s ambitions have doomed Russia to 3rd World status, especially if his buddies in Beijing decide to claim everything east of the Urals (being part of China since ancient times ya’ know).
I just hope we’ve made sufficient progress in cancer treatment by the time we get hit by the fallout.

No, Sam, you haven’t failed Kiko. Instead, you have trained her well in the ways of mechanics and science. You should get down there and work alongside her to complete her training.
(now you need to send them both to a Cordon Bleu school to learn how to cook, and NOT launch frozen turkeys into sub orbit or barn rafters)
Dammit! I was hoping “The Ghost” would survive to harrass the Russians to the end of this… Heroics are good, but driving to Victory is far better…. the Russians are going to see “a rifle behind every blade of grass.”
Consider that half of Ukraine and Belarus was part of Poland prior to WW2 and the 1920 Polish–Soviet War that Russia effectively lost. Dangerous Ground for Putin.
Funnily the comment about a Tranny made me wonder what the “bush pig”in town faced 🙂
A twitter thread reproduced on Instapundit yesterday at 5:50 PM details how the situation is Ukrainian Blood for Wind Turbines. Politicians allowed noisy green wheels to convince them to leave nuclear and fossil energy, and now they’re dependent on Putin’s gas & oil.
I didn’t see this, a comment from elsewhere. A refresher in OPSEC is badly needed: Watching Fox while eating breakfast and Pete Hegseth, an apparent former military service member, asked a Ukrainian citizen live on TV how much ammunition they were provided.
And in the midst of this chaos what happened to Hunter’s crooked dealings and influence peddling investigation records? Joe’s admitted quid pro quo? Does this whole fiasco have any good guys? I’ve yet to understand what Putin expects to gain by this action, but it obviously wasn’t just for shits and giggles.
Welcome to ‘the fog of war’. Not just the Biden brat ~ The children of Biden, Pelosi, Romney and Kerry all work(ed) for Ukrainian Gas Companies. Perhaps Putin was concerned about: US Embassy just removed all their Ukraine Bioweapon lab documents from the website.
I seem to be alone here in actually listening to what Putin said. Without contreversy, let me point out the BIG problem:
NATO. Poland joined NATO and the West moved heavy military stuff into Poland. NATO = Ditto.
NATO is pushing for Sweden and Finland — There’s a lot more — do a Duck-duck on NATO countries touching Russia. Look at the maps. You will see NATO is the wild-ass aggressor here.
Question for all: What was the USA’s IMMEDIATE reaction when Russia put missiles 90 miles from our border in Cuba?
Well?
Can we say pretty it’s an even fuggin parallel, eh, wot?
Did we tell them to remove them… or esle? Suppose the CCP made an “agreement” <- code word for NATO (single armed entity) with Mexico and Canuckistan to store a few military bases, etc. right on our border.
Does Putin sound so wild, now? The aggressor is NATO.
Oh — On the record: I am an old, volunteer, dinged helmet GI from a military family. I am a staunch Constitutional conservative. And I am keenly aware of the EVIL people running our government.
The standard of living in the two provinces dropped mightily when they were moved from Russia and into the Clinton/Kerry/Biden/Yada/Burisma snakepit called Ukraine.
Yup. I mentioned that NATO kept moving in on Russia when we were discussing Ukraine Hunter and 10%.
That list of Ukraine “supporters” sounds like dirty money involved to me. Laundry?
This is surely not the last “international crisis/war” (real or manufactured) where the USA cannot (as a direct result of the evil 2020 election steal) be counted among the Good Guys, nor policy assumed to be for the Republic’s best interest. Quite the opposite.
We are only beginning to see the nightmarish repercussions of The Crime of the Century. No, correct that – the repercussions of allowing The Crime of the Century to stand and go unpunished. More nightmares are most assuredly in the pipeline..
Or not in the pipeline as it were…and that is emblematic of the problem there, with the russkies attempting to exert control over them and theirs, in that and many other ways ref. Ukraine.
The parallels are many…ref the CC, what punishments should be or have been applied, and is it too late?

Unca+Walt, you aren’t alone, great assessment, thanks. The pot wasn’t boiling enough so now we get this: Update — Germany does 180* on sending weapons to Ukraine…
Won’t go to war against them either, at least not at this time.
Us either, if we were an outfit run by competent adults.
As it is, we’ll see. The adolescents running things and the abject evil cabal that controls them, are quite capable of blowing up the world to cover various crimes and misdemeanors by the former and achieve the ends so lusted after by the latter.

THIS!
Especially the Cordon Bleu Cooking School.
The cost of repacking all those tungsten carbide bits and blades probably exceeds the cost of tuition for the school
Were the Girls to go to said school, they would need to bomb proof it from the inside.

Putin’s is simply sending a message to the E.U., “Give me what I want…Bitch”
If Putin makes it back out of Ukraine with a copy of Burisma’s ledgers, that wouldn’t be an entirely bad thing.
I am currently reading “Last Stands Why me fight when all is lost” by Michael Walsh. There will be an entire Ukraine edition after all this.

Bush supports Ukraine
Kerry supports Ukraine
Biden supports Ukraine
Soros supports Ukraine
Pelosi supports Ukraine
Hillary supports Ukraine
Obama supports Ukraine
Romney supports Ukraine
Abromovich supports Ukraine
Now do you folks understand?
WHO do YOU support?
