The 1945 Olivier’ version still holds my heart. Especially with its accurate and stunning version of the arrow-storm at Agincourt.
But Branagh’s “His jape shall see these tennis balls turned into gunstones” still resonates. Back then, cannon fired projectiles made mostly from marble or granite by stonemasons, and polished like a modern bowling ball, hence “gunstones”. Henry was saying “You think I’m just a boy playing at being king? You won’t like the way I ‘play’, you puffed-up capon’.”
I’ve been feeling’ Shakespearean for about 3 years now, the next CW is gonna last a decade and make the War of The Roses look like child’s play. These pretenders know this as well which is why they are seizing all the ammo mfgs AR sales
Truly though, if we are to depict the most evil and insane of Shakespearean monarchs, would it not be The Mike and not The Zero? What could fit the twisted machinations of the Bard better than the “she” who sought to be the “he”? Would that we could enter Act 5 and jump quickly from Scene 1 to Scene 5, thence to Scene 8. And we will. But with so much pain in the process. Godspeed to our Malcolm.
Even Willie would have a hard time keeping up with Modern Scotland.
Well, I’ve been referring to Hillary as Lady MacBeth for about three decades at this point.
Except that she never bothers trying to wash the blood off her hands. She’s too proud of it.
An accurate biopic of Hillary would best be defined as a cross between “MacBeth” and “Titus Andronicus”, with some “Hamlet” thrown in for good measure.
This is not 2016. She/it’s time has passed. She/it knows it and so does everyone else, enraging her. But the beast can now only murder one at a time.
The real and current threat is as I described it above, and the threat is palpable and Yuge, and this one? This one could and is designed to end the
world.
Scared the fuck out of old Willy and he declined the commission for a rewrite.

Missed the birthday celebration, so Congratulations on a birth and existence so far very well done.
Was that Obama and Mike part of designing and planning the Maui funeral fire? Or just minions in the big group plans? Tragedies abound.
A bit late for this day but in memory of Guy Fawkes, ‘the only man ever to enter Parliament with honest intentions’…
“Remember, remember the Fifth of November…”
‘the Sixth of January doesn’t rhyme as well but the sentiment is still there…politicians who don’t have the interests of the citizens who supposedly elected them at heart and who don’t put them first would do well to become familiar with that bit of history.

Take that, Froggie! King Henry has spoken!
Lose sleep, zero man.
From Big Mike:
Aye, there’s the rub…
My favorite part of Henry V! I loved Brian Blessed giving the ultimatum in the 1989 film!

True! Olivier was a master, and not really portraying the battle was the one thing that disappointed me in the 1989 version!
Indeed the role he was born to play!!
He just likes being the catcher on his knees screaming in delight with moochelle the wookie behind him.
Rumor has it that John Holmes would be jealous.
Hates the West
Bill Mahar had a good take, except for the closing line.

Probably didn’t study a lot of Shakespeare in Indonesian madrassahs.

Will 2024 be Shakespearean and/or Biblical? That is the question.
Yes. That is the answer…
Is that Hamlet or Henry V? Or a combination of both?
100% Henry V.
Henry V – Act 2, scene 4
Is that Hamlet or Henry V? Or a combination?
That first scene, accurate to how he “sees” himself. Or as Caesar.
I prefer: “you puffed-up capon’.”
