you know what people really demand? news that tells me the facts, and doesn’t go left or right or try to tell me what to think. if there are two sides to a story, tell me both sides, and don’t pick one. let me do that.
do that, and you’ll own the market. anything else is just a photocopy of what we already have, with the brightness turned up or down.
Exactly what the ‘news’ should be, news not opinions dressed up as news.
But as long as there are gov’t subsidies for media companies, provided you tell the news ‘the right way’ said gov’t tells you to in order to qualify, which is a requirement up here, we’ll keep getting one-sided rabidly biased crap like ‘the view’ or anything on cnn, cbc or ctv.
I’d rather hear them say ‘someone did something’ than listen to them foam at the mouth about how Trump deliberately caused it to rain on the day you planned a picnic.
Quite often the digging for the story has to be done at the local level. National news is just an aggregator, clearly with an agenda depending on the stockholders. Go deeper.
Everybody in the news business wants a byline, now! They do not want to be just the person who does the work to answer the five W’s – who, what, when, where and why anymore. So the entire paper becomes an editorial page, but without any clear distinction on what is opinion and what is not. Plus journalism schools now only teach them ‘how to change the world’, which is not what the actual job is but does work very well for the uniparty.
They don’t even have to force bye-then to quit…
All they need to do is rig his teleprompter to read “I hereby irrevocably resign the Office of President”
Of course he’d bugger it up and end up preemptively firing kameltoe but that works too.
LOL. My local rag deleted a comment I made simply asking for them to provide any evidence that minimum wage laws do anything but devalue the monetary unit.
Off topic perhaps but this seems to be the best place to thank DaybyDay. I made a small support contribution and a few days later there was a message (an actual person not a robo call) on my answering machine from them thanking me for my support. That is a really nice touch compared to my homeowner’s insurance company which gets over $10k a year from me but has trouble returning my calls. Not sure whether the call was from the world-famous (at least he should be) Mr. Muir, but thanks to whoever called.
R Arvantis posted a comment but for some reason it won’t load so: Be of good cheer. The left hand has overplayed its hand, grasped for more than it can ever hold, and its grip is spent.

Mind you, rain at a swimming hole shouldn’t matter.
Just look on it as adding a shower..pass the soap 😉
In 1968 Playboy had a pictorial of some lovely girls on a Caribbean island finding a swimming hole much like the DD’s, but theirs had a shower!

C’mon, guys… Jeez.
Times are tight for everyone. You don’t want to do without when you could have made the difference, do you?

Twas moi. I can’t thank everyone like I did in the old days (dammit!) as I am…old, but I mix it up sometimes.:)
