“…I could draw a lot of parallels between where Star Wars is at now, and where Doctor Who is at as a franchise. It’s that feeling of the game is almost up, we’re running out of time, running out of money, and it’s just like, we’re into pure “f*** you mode” now. We know you don’t like what we’re making, and we just say f*** you, we’re just going to put everything in that we want to put in: All the sociopolitical messaging, all of our own personal hang-ups, all of our own personal politics, all of it. It’s just going to get rammed down your throat, because we know we’re in The Last Chance Saloon right now, so why not? Why not just throw all the s*** up a wall and see what sticks, and Doctor Who’s exactly the same way….”
The rest of them weren’t much after his performance and Pertwee’s before him and now it looks like the end because the writers are writing for themselves and not the audience. Once upon a time you had the likes of Douglas Adams making storylines but now the main requirement seems to be flogging the cause of the week that the audience isn’t interested in and tune in to try and forget about.

Art and beauty take time to be fully appreciated and understood.
Definitely needs to be studied and lovingly well taken care of.

“Billboard?”
Campaign billboard?
Tourism billboard?
BBQ/bar billboard?
ALL of the above!

Well, it’s most likely just bad timing that Rush isn’t here to see all this, but still …
Halley,
Well played. Well played, indeed!
Zed. A man who knows what he is about. Salute!
True. And of equal or perhaps greater importance, Zed is the man who knows and understands what SHE is all about.
Oil painting…hold that pose
What a great idea!
Continuing on from yesterday’s comments on the ‘arts’…

Well said Old Armourer!!
Wish I could claim it but the quote isn’t mine. I do however strongly approve of it and it’s pretty much exactly what I’ve been saying for years.
Haven’t really seen the Doctor since Tom Baker, so . . .
