Show trials in NYC again, just like King George had back when.

NY,NY…the only state to NOT sign the Declaration. Truly the Empire State that love to kneel under the Rule of Tyrants.

This city is not, and have never been Americans. They are not citizens but subjects in their hearts.

Good riddance. I say this as one born in NY state.

Put all the “enlightened elite'” from NYC, Albany, and etc. on Manhattan Island, and wall it off.

Let simmer for a few centuries, then send Thundarr the Barbarian in to recce.

By that time maybe they’ll have evolved into a more rational life-form.

In my mind, I’m hearing the music to “American Pie” but with the line “The day the Republic died…”

The DemonRat politicians, judges, FBI, etc. are evil enough, but the real travesty is that the majority of Americans don’t seem upset.

Even if we could remove all the DemonRats and RINOs, in the long run would it really matter when you have an apathetic citizenry that just wants their “Bread and Circuses”.

My level of hope for the future has eroded over the years and this brings it to near zero.

      > NY,NY…the only state to NOT sign the Declaration.
      —-
For all practical purposes, New York sided with the British during the Revolutionary War. The official spin is that they were “under occupation”, but by all accounts they were perfectly happy with that; the New Yorkers freely collaborated with the British, and there was little in the way of a resistance, at least that hadn’t marched in from one of the other colonies.

Vermont was originally on the revolutionary side, then decided to try to straddle the fence by adopting a policy of neutrality, eventually leaning pro-British.

Besides, several of the other colonies were more interested in fighting each other – “border disputes” – than the British.

In the decade after the war, the population of Canada nearly doubled, from Americans who decided the New George and his taxes were even worse than the Old George, and shagged off to the north. Meanwhile, Shay’s Rebellion, Fries’ Rebellion, and the Whiskey Rebellion were the results of men trying to get out from under the the Confederation government’s jackboot.

Funny, the “history” books I had in school didn’t mention any of that stuff.

Not gonna get any better appeal wise since the @nd Circuit Court of appeals is ALSO in NYC and as near as I can tell going thru the list of Judges in that circuit, there aren’t a whole lot that I could find that were appointed by a Republican.

This could go all the way to the US Supreme Court, particularly if it can be shown that there was judicial and/or prosecutorial misconduct. The jury instructions alone might be enough, said instructions boiling down to “You WILL find Trump guilty no matter what you believe to be true.”

I have always held that most of today’s legal decisions result from ‘precedent’, legal decisions from the past. Today’s judges do not really render decisions based on the actual facts known about the case being tried but decide which legal team has used precedent more effectively to admit or disallow evidence. Many times exculpatory facts are disallowed because sometime way back when, similar facts were once disallowed in a trial hence becoming precedent. I wonder why we have judges at all when a computer program could search all the legal decisions from history and then suggest a decision based on precedents.

So now we have a decision that establishes a new precedent. Should someone have an unpaid speeding ticket from 10s of years ago that infraction can now legally be spun into years of jail time.

I doubt the left really knows what peril they have wrought. Or maybe they do. It is possible they understand that they cannot ever let any opposition political party gain power. The upcoming election is their hill to die on because if the usually feckless Rs take two majorities and POTUS, there are many Ds that will live out their days in a small cell.

Disregarding the rino factor of course…they had both House and Senate at the start of Trump’s presidency and spent more time protecting and refilling the swamp than draining it. To politicians of all stripes, the swamp is a federally protected watershed to be carefully tended to before anything else.

The interesting thing here is that the entire NY business community is now on notice that it is open season on business. The “law” will not only _not_ protect them, it will enable the looters.
As to Appeals, take note that DEI has infected the _entire_ NY court system.

I listened to Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue today. The start of it just yells New York City, of the 40’s and 50’s. Even now as it has gone to total crap, this music still brings back a NY of power, hope and invention. I weep every time I listen to this music. It brings back memories of NY, when it was vibrant, and strong and people were not afraid of walking the streets. Just too bad it has all gone to crap since the 1960’s, just too bad. I miss the older days in the last century. Maybe some day it will emerge again to equal the music Gershwin wrote for it. I so desperately hope so.
