Moving multi-day tribute to your dad Chris. Sincerest condolences. It is always a rough transition when a parent leaves us. Not a day goes by that I don’t miss my dad and I lost him in ’88.

Very well done send-off you’ve shared with your extended family here, online. We all grieve with you, Chris. Just know that the heart tearing pain will pass and you will move beyond this. You’ll never forget your old man, but you’ll find yourself remembering more good and funny stuff and less of the painful part. I survived. My wife snd best friend survived. Stay strong, bro.

I cannot speak for anyone else, but it seems to me that comparing the amount of time away from the strips Mr. Muir and Mr. Bieser each took seems like a pretty cheap shot. Everyone processes grief differently. Taking less time before resuming posting does not show less respect, nor does it indicate less grief. Getting flippant with the following posts might, but that’s not what happened here. These last several posts, all published August 1st though backdated, are a very loving and respectful tribute.

Achingly beautiful week, Chris. The one thing in life there is no way around, over, or under. You must go through it. You will never get over it. The pain, when it comes, will always be sharp and deep. But gradually it will come less often, and not last quite as long, because the good memories have more power.

UNDER the wide and starry sky
Dig the grave and let me lie:
Glad did I live and gladly die,
And I laid me down with a will.
This be the verse you ‘grave for me:
Here he lies where he long’d to be;
Home is the sailor, home from the sea,
And the hunter home from the hill.
For reasons I can’t explain, celebrity divorces have always messed me up. I was a wreck when Burt and Lonnie split. So Zed and Sam are a treasure to me. I’m sorry about your dad, and I’m really glad you’re back at the work you do best.
