Yup. Lost most of my left thumb. Local anesthesia to the left hand ONLY. ZERO damage, or drugs, to my head, torso, or legs. Wheeled through 3 floors of the Hospital to the front door.
She’ll be back in there soon enough. Doing rehab while your balance is changing, you’re tossing cookies, and pre-birth hormones are raging, will not be fun.
I wouldn’t let the girl anywhere near LI batteries. Now a nice sized straight four cylinder motorcycle engine… And you could have twin pipes out each side.
Wait… A 500cc Two Smoke!?! Look at the history of that type of motor (MotoGP leaps to mind) and the fact that the pros often said it was trying to kill you from the moment it fired.
She’s still not thinking entirely clearly, hopefully Mom will help her stay safe when building a new ride (of any sort).
And yes, the rehab coming up along with survivors guilt and any number of PTSD type issues are going to make her recovery slow and painful. The good part is that she has a family that loves and supports her and will fight for her until she can once again fight for herself.
I had a Vega until it rotted out and I sold it to a friend of my brother.
They promptly tarred some sheet metal on it and dropped in a 302
The last time I saw them before my leave ended they were measuring the engine bay and swearing a 455 would fit, That was almost 50 years ago, I should ask him sometime if they ever did get around to that 😉

Is this a permanent state of affairs or just until they get her out the door?
Standard operating procedure for every hospital I’ve ever been in. You get rolled to the exit even if you’re strong enough to run a marathon.

Motorheads have to motor.

Over 40 years back in high school we had a Vo-Ag student build a home made beater buggy and powered it with a old V-4 Wisconsin gas motor.
I don’t remember all the exact specs or where the motor came from but it was quick.
She’s got a cane, so probably six o’ one, for awhile at least.
Her hair grew fast!
Wish I had me summa that cartoon metabolism!

Aww, go full stroke and start with 400wH of LiFePO4. A CVT and repurposed drive motors and, well, party on!
I don’t think Kiko will ever be a “juicer”. Big bore or go home. Can she fit a 426 Hemi in there?

“Survivor’s guilt?” She was raised by Zed and Sam and engaged to a hero. Survivor’s rage is more likely. First a 50CC for mobility, then a .50 BMG.
Oh, wait… I misread that and added an extra ‘0’ to the equation…
My bad for reading without my glasses…
The rest of my post stands. *giggle* now I feel really silly.
I’m thinking a small diesel , tracked chair for the Texas terrain would be better suited for her needs.
Couple hotfoots I knew in Hotlanta fashioned a Huyabusa motor into a Smart Car which ain’t much bigger than Kiko’s ride there…an insane rocket.
