I envision a “Cold Equations” scenario, where our elites have to decide “fairly” who gets jettisoned. I hear Disney is looking for movie ideas that don’t suck.

Despite Elon Musk’s visionary goal of colonizing and populating the Angry Red Planet, any such permanent colonization would surely be a suicidal trip.
Mars has virtually no atmosphere, no magnetic poles to block out radioactive cosmic rays, and a gravitational field just a fraction of Earth’s. Humans permanently colonizing Antarctica fare 1000 times better than a human colony on Mars would.
So yeah … by all means let’s send all the Davos globalists to Mars ASAP.
