As the Iron Lady famously said “The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people’s money.”

“The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people’s money potatoes.”

At what point does one reach zero sum, indeed.

I admit to being a bit confused. This Jan seems nothing like Jan from the start of the strip (which I’ve started re-reading). Different person, Chris, or did she somehow morph into a “gentler, kinder” liberal?

Sam never “succumbed” to anything, DD. She was sane day 1. Actually, neither Jan nor even Skye are anything BUT sane. They are simply examples of r-selected individuals. Read the book Reg. Anonymous Conservative laid it all out clearly.

RegT — Jan reminds me of my oldest daughter. In my daughter’s case, having two kids, a solid husband, and working at a small company brought her around.

No, we ran out today, comrade citizen. Come back tomorrow and stand in line (for 4 hours). Hopefully we will still have some then.

Nice modernist house. Was it supposed to look like something the New York Five would’ve come up with? I’m seeing serious Charles Gwathmey there.

    cheers

Akin to the fried circuits in liberal heads?

Nah. . . I can eat fried potatoes. I don’t think I can (or want to poison myself) eat fried Libtard brains (if you can even find any – as scarce as hen’s teeth).
But, on the other hand, Libtards may have potatoes for brains, as shown by the parody of the (in)famous pop song, “Peelings, nothing more than peelings. . . “

The denizens from the getmorebrains crew wouldn’t even eat Lib brains when available these days.

If EVERYONE contributes, there would be enough for all. Those who do not should be removed from the benefit of the trunk of the producers.

Akin to the statement by John Smith at Jamestown, “He who shall not work, shall not eat.”

        DDS

John Smith was quoting 2 Thessalonians 3:10 “For even when we were with you, we gave you this rule: “The one who is unwilling to work shall not eat.””

Heh. A google search for Wikipedia DBD doesn’t bring up your strip but does return a couple examples of interest; Deep Borehole Disposal, a technique for disposing of nuclear waste that I can think of alternative political uses for…and Death Before Dishonor (the movie with Fred Dryer as middle-east Marine hero, not the punk band).

But yeah, I did find you there too, under Day by Day…you come in after the song but before the sitcom. Nice.

Thank you Chris, yes that is the link that I found. Interesting backstory, much of which I am familiar with as I have read the strip more or less regularly for several years after linking from Tam (and before the comment section that I am conflicted about; I like some of the comments and here I am myself, yet I generally think art should speak for itself and be open to individual interpretation…such as mine that Zed is pretty much you and his dad is a dead-on Sam Elliott).

Wasn’t aware of the Fla thing though, or that you are here yourself, and my ignorance of Damon’s background was obvious in a prior thread. The Doonesbury info though? Ugh. Trudeau is truly an evil genius…glad you could take some cues and turn them to good. I’ll keep reading and kicking in a few fee-for-service bucks at fund-raising time; your work is truly a fresh breath in a dank and stifling media world.
