Much as the ProgLibtards insist on NOT having in any religion, yet they continue to have faith in their Statist beliefs – even when they’re proven factually wrong.

“Faith: firm belief in something for which there is no proof.”

And the ProgLibTards call us who believe in God delusional! At least we (here in America – I can’t speak for the rest of the world) attempt to convert through persuasion, not force and coercion. And if someone becomes disillusioned, we do not mock, ridicule, and affect their relationships and occupations.

  • April 9, 2016 at 10:32 pm

The Competitive Enterprise Institute (CEI) today denounced a subpoena from Attorney General Claude E. Walker of the U.S. Virgin Islands that attempts to unearth a decade of the organization’s materials and work on climate change policy. This is the latest effort in an intimidation campaign to criminalize speech and research on the climate debate, led by New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman and former Vice President Al Gore.

“CEI will vigorously fight to quash this subpoena. It is an affront to our First Amendment rights of free speech and association for Attorney General Walker to bring such intimidating demands against a nonprofit group,” said CEI General Counsel Sam Kazman. “If Walker and his allies succeed, the real victims will be all Americans, whose access to affordable energy will be hit by one costly regulation after another, while scientific and policy debates are wiped out one subpoena at a time.”

The subpoena requests a decade’s worth of communications, emails, statements, drafts, and other documents regarding CEI’s work on climate change and energy policy, including private donor information. It demands that CEI produce these materials from 20 years ago, from 1997-2007, by April 30, 2016.

On March 30, 2016, Attorney General Schneiderman, former Vice President Al Gore, and attorneys general from Massachusetts, Virginia, Connecticut, Maryland, Vermont, as well as Attorney General Walker, held a press conference in New York City to announce “an unprecedented coalition of top law enforcement officials committed to aggressively protecting and building upon the recent progress the United States has made in combating climate change.” Schneiderman said that the group, calling itself “AGs United for Clean Power,” will address climate change by threatening criminal investigations and charges against companies, policy organizations, scientists, and others who disagree with its members’ climate policy agenda.

CEI has long been a champion of sound climate change policy, and opposed previous attempts to use McCarthy-style tactics by officials aiming to limit discussions between nonprofit policy groups and the private sector regarding federal policies. CEI is being represented in this matter by attorneys Andrew M. Grossman and David B. Rivkin, Jr., who recently founded the Free Speech in Science Project to defend First Amendment rights against government abuses.

An open ended fishing expedition. I thought the 4th Amendment was ratified for that purpose, “. . . no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.”

    Considering that the Sun is shutting down;

    http://news.discovery.com/space/is-the-sun-about-to-fizz-out-110614.htm

We are most likely looking at another “Little Ice Age”, the same as the last Maunder Minimum.

We should have gone almost entirely to nuclear and hydroelectric power decades ago. Instead, we have “No Nukes!”, the destruction of existing hydro dams to “make rivers wild again”, the destruction of the coal and petroleum industries, and the pious proclamation that Holy Wind and Holy Sun will save us all… from Global Warming.

Forty years ago, the deep-ecos (including Al Gore) were claiming we were entering a “New Ice Age”- and proclaimed that we must get rid of technology and revert to an agrarian socialist feudalist culture operating at Stone Age technology levels to Save Holy Mother Gaia.

Twenty years ago, they claimed that Anthropogenic Global Warming was going to kill us all- unless we dump technology and revert to an agrarian socialist feudalist culture operating at Stone Age technology levels to Save Holy Mother Gaia.

    It’s a basic principle of physics that a single set of causes cannot have two opposite and diametrically-opposed effects. Therefore, if two entirely opposite “effects” are claimed to be the result of the same “cause”, and the same solution is demanded for both sets of effects, you can be sure of one thing;

The effects are a fraud, so are the claims for a cause, and the solution being demanded is the prime desideratum.

If they were serious about “fighting” climate change by reducing “carbon output”, they would be building nuclear plants and hydroelectric dams. Period. Instead, they want to primitivise the world, which will kill about 90% of the human race. Thereby fulfilling their dream of reducing the population to the ‘carrying capacity” of “Holy Mother Gaia “, which they reckon at about 50 million humans.

(That works out to them, plus ten slaves, and about two armed thugs to control the slaves, per “enlightened one”.)

When people are dying from cold (which historically has killed a lot more people than heat ever did), the “enlightened ones” should be on trial at the Hague for crimes against humanity. Specifically, attempted genocide. We’ve done it before- see Nuremberg, which BTW is their model for what they want to do to “climate deniers”.

As they move on to their own version of Auschwitz and Birkenfeld for all those grotty humans they don’t need to do the scutwork.

In the future, the Global Warming fraud and “Gaiaism” will be seen as being as great a crime against humanity as Nazism and Communism.

Not surprising, really. They all had the same roots in primitivist collectivism. And a self-anointed elite’ who hate the human race.

I just read yesterday’s DBD and the comments are closed as I type. There was a lot of airplane talk, some about the A-10 program.

The initial reference to the A-10 program closing was not about the Warthog. There was another airplane with the A-10 designation in the ’90s. I worked on the infrared missile detection system for that one for a while. GE Aerospace.

The cost overruns and delays for the entire program were horrendous and the program was cancelled before a single airplane was built.

    Not the Warthog.

    John Greer

I guess it’s time to climb onto my soapbox.
I don’t listen to the climate change “theorists”. I go directly to the facts.
    1) According to the Greenland ice core data there have been three global warming events prior to the present roughly coincident to the Minoan civilization, the Roman civilization, and the Medieval periods. These were almost exactly 1200 years apart and we are right on schedule. So unless you believe the Minoans, the Romans, and the Vikings were on par with us for generating carbon dioxide, the Climate Change advocates are blatantly guilty of the Post Hoc Ergo Propter Hoc logical fallacy.
    2) The Arctic Ocean ice pack volume is directly related to ocean salinity, not temperature, and in spite of all the furor generated about Greenland melting, the real problem is that the ice melt from the last remnants of the last glacial period are just about gone. The pack ice is doomed to disappear entirely soon and it’s not do to warming.
    Here is the kicker though.
None of these wackos have considered what happens when that pack ice IS gone.
The North American continental ice sheet (last go-round) grew from zero to two MILES thick as far south as Chicago in only eighty thousand years.
That averages to about an inch of ice a year.
Yes, during a glacial period it gets cold, but where does the moisture for all that snow come from?
Ask any resident of Buffalo, New York where their snow comes from and they will tell you it comes from the open water of the Lakes.
So what happens when the entire Arctic Ocean is open water for much of the year? What happens when the tropical water of the Gulf Stream extends the open season? What happens to the ocean salinity when huge quantities of water evaporate to be deposited permanently in the form of snow and ice on North America and Northern Europe? What happens when that snow reflects sunlight back into space?
If you think we have refugee problems now, just reflect on where we are going to put the populations that once resided north of the Missouri, Ohio, and Rhine rivers.
