Group them all under the one term “authoritarianism”.

I’m on a mission to have everyone settle on the common term “totalitarianism.” Even the least-educated low-information voters have heard this word at some point in their life AND understand its meaning.
Certainly fits the mid-tier group of activists and functionaries like the Clintons, Obama etc…even Soros.
Problem is, there’s a tier below and a tier above…
The bottom dwellers are easily termed proglodytes (the leftist version of those low-info pawns you mention). blind followers who make up the bulk of the needed numbers (voters), as long as they get their free shit.
Then there’s that top tier that we know exists but have a hard time identifying and pinning down, that NYIAC darkly and mysteriously referenced above (and who BTW has not responded to my response under his for elaboration). Who/what are they/it? We really don’t know, but what we do know is they are our real enemy.
Well, we won’t figure it out before the 12 a.m. switch to Sunday’s ‘toon (Sunday Nude maybe? :). But we better start finding out pretty soon.

Why, Freud, what a pretty slip you’re wearing there.
Judas, in contrition, donated the thirty pieces to the temple. The priests, not wishing to associate blood money with other offerings, used the funds to buy a potter’s field.
You’re not “journalists” either.
Are you “steno-gophers”?
“Steno-gropers”? (hands or fish, your choice)
“Steno-groupees”?
You don’t even speak Truth to Power (whatever that means).
I’ve often wondered if Ian Fleming, the creator of James Bond, modeled Ernst Stavro Blofeld on Soros, as opposed to the common assumption that the real-life prototype was Aristotle Onassis.
This comes from Charles Baudelaire. Read it, then think about it.
“Personally, I think that the unique and supreme delight lies in the certainty of doing evil, and men and women know from birth that all pleasure lies in evil. But what can [an] eternity of damnation matter to someone who has felt, if only for a second, the infinity of delight?” – Charles Baudelaire
There is also that twisted plot movie, The Usual Suspects, in which at the end Kint (Soze?) tells the detective: ” The greatest trick the Devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn’t exist.”
The Inouye Solar Observatory in Sunspot, NM, which overlooks the White Sands missile range and Holloway AFB was abruptly shut down by FBI people on Thursday, along with both post offices that serve it. At the same time, six other solar observatories were shut down and evacuated. These solar/space cams and webcams were all taken offline at the same time as the National Solar Observatory evacuation.
AXIS 2320 Network Dome Camera in Sydney, Australia,
the SOAR Observatory in Chile,
BRT Tenerife Telescope in Spain,
the Mauna Kea observatory in Hilo, Hawaii,
the Canada-France-Hawaii telescope in Hawaii,
the JAT Observatory in Fariless Hills, Pennsylvania
No explanation, just evacuated and taken offline, while FIBs set up towers and antennas. This comes just as the Sun’s corona is developing a huge hole, which streams more particles toward Earth (causes auroras), and the Sun continues in its dormant state.
The Truth is out there. Soros can’t squelch it. And no rational person believes that anything released in concert with the NYT review of Woodward’s book “Fear:” was written by anyone other than someone at NYT.
Except for several things:
*Three and a half of those six telescopes aren’t solar. (One sometimes did solar observing, but wasn’t strictly a solar observatory.)
*One is under construction and not operational.
*One is I dunno what, because it’s apparently just referencing a webcam.
Of the four extant non-solar observatories, all are in operation except one — the JAT Observatory was a private observatory on private land that got surrounded by light pollution and was apparently shut down THREE YEARS AGO. And the two Hawaiian sites (one of which is the one under construction, so it hasn’t even seen first light yet) have been having problems with, oh, hurricanes/tropical storms — like two in the timeframe under discussion, so it isn’t surprising that there’s not much coming from them.
Can we say “cherry-picked for results”? Yup.
As for the images in the article claiming that, my husband is a graphics artist and he taught me how to look at images and tell if they’d been ‘shopped. Let’s just say that I’m not sure there’s a legit image in the lot.
And no other solar observatories have been closed, and given there’s more than 20 that I’m aware of, that right there pretty much jerks the rug out from under THAT.
I’d lay odds I know what happened, given the timing. Stop and think.
1) This is a research facility.
2) It gets researchers from all over the world.
3) This includes undergrad and grad students. In-country and international.
4) The post office that was also closed was PART OF THE OBSERVATORY COMPLEX. It was closer to the solar observatory building than the visitor center, by at least half.
5) The observatory (& environ) was evacuated, per reports, due to “security concerns.”
6) The evacuation took place a couple days BEFORE 9-11.
Also realize that a few years back, the authorities (not all of whom were local) descended on the house across the street from us (it was a rental). This house was occupied by several 20-something Middle Eastern males. Quite a few more 20-something M.E. males were prone to going and coming from this house at all hours of the night. (NOT the daytime, so much; just at night. Weird hours of the night. I know because I’m a night owl and up writing.) Hey presto, one day that house was surrounded by official vehicles of various sorts, and the house was cleared in a matter of hours. The neighbors were told bupkis. When my hubs went up to one of the officers and asked courteously, as being a neighbor, he was politely told to butt out. The next day there was a news report of a “local” terror ring that had been cleared.
That is the standard mode of operations in such a situation. And it fits what happened at the observatory.
I’d lay odds some grad student’s background rang alarm bells with the 9-11 anniversary coming up, and they cleared the area for that reason.
Oh, who am I? Retired astronomer/rocket scientist.

Thanks, Stephanie. The info I had was VERY sketchy. In addition, there are joint war games going on with Russia and China, coinciding with joint exercises in Norway with US/NATO, and the Inouye observatory is not far from White Sands missile range and the Holloway base.
It appears that I got suckered by the conspiracy theorists, which is unusual for me. I’m a real skeptic about lots of stuff.
Thanks for your input. I appreciate it a lot.

Glad to do it, dear. I got hit up a lot on faceplant about it, ’cause I’m known there as a scientist-turned-writer, and happy to answer questions — so people come to me with questions, especially if there’s a weird news article that they don’t get, but it pertains to science-y stuffs.
I do seriously think that one was a case of watching out for 9-11 anniversary hijinx.

Oh, while I’m thinking about it, there is a story put out to wit the mirror was being floated on mercury, and the mercury spilled during maintenance, creating a nasty little toxic spill.
Well, there IS such a thing as a liquid-metal mirror for telescopes. You create a pool of the liquid (usually mercury) and spin it at the rate desired to create the parabola of rotation necessary for the curvature indicated. But it’s a PITA to deal with, and I don’t know of any that are currently operational. I don’t know of anything like what’s being described.
Not to mention evidently somebody got in there with a drone to try to see what was going on. The area had yellow caution tape cordoning it off, there were quite a few official-looking vehicles, some guys in black clothing with large white lettering on it, and nobody in MOPP gear or hazmat suits.
Which doesn’t sound remotely like a toxic spill to me.

Stephanie Osborn, how do you aim a liquid metal mirror? It would have to stay level to avoid spilling, wouldn’t it?
September 17, 2018 at 12:10 am
Swansonic
The mirror stays level on the floor / bottom of the observatory. You move the secondary optics around to examine different parts of the sky mostly directly over the mirror.
Neat concept, lots of constraints to it’s usability…

Yeah, George, ain’t it a shame? It’s tough to buy dependable help these days.
The definition of an honest politician in Chi-Town is one who, once bought, stayed bought. Taught to me by a polisci prof and, probably, the last honest Democrat.
Hopefully in our lifetimes, the coalition/collusion/co-conspiritor nature of the “media” and the “progressive” Marxist criminal syndicate known as Forward! will be exposed for what it really is. With indictments to follow.
We need a name for the likes of Soros, the Clintons, the Bush clan, the Kennedy clan, et al, that is to say those rent seeking scum who also seek to elevate themselves by undercutting everybody else.
This amoral 1% of the 1% is so confident of their survival that they actively encourage, or even believe in, Socialism knowing that, one way or another, they will escape its poisonous effects to leave them yet higher on the heap, even if the heap itself is smaller.
Marx innocently tried something similar by labeling those who actually did not labor as Bourgeoisie, but we now know the vast majority of that group actually do contribute to society by way of their work in handling information, especially resource allocation and communication. And they contributed to society merely by looking after their own affairs as more modern economists have pointed out.
In this evermore centralized world their threat is real and their power is growing exponentially.
We need a handle.
Any suggestions?
Sure. I love Ayn Rand’s term for collectivists: “looters and moochers.” You are describing the looter subclass. The moocher subclass receives the handouts; the looters disburse them, after taking their 80% off the top.
I didn’t know the New York Times employed California College Graduates to write their articles. As to Soros, somebody needs to strip him of his ill-gotten gains.
The Maunder Minimum is in the offing, might want to put some long term provisions and seeds in storage.

Totally useless beyond comedy at a minimum.
The truth is Soros is massive evil power as are those he works for, that he thinks he’s part of.
And therein lies the question…?
All liberalism, socialism, and communism is EVIL!
Group them all under the one term “authoritarianism”.

Another data point showing that the term “presstitute” is well earned……30 pieces of silver well earned.

Great artwork! Looks just like the c*#k s*&king b@$#@&d!
Last couple of times I saw faces like that, one was Keith Richards, an Egyptologist was unwrapping the other one.
The one that got away from Neurenburg.
He was 14 in 1945, doubt the commission would try such.
Doesn’t make him any less guilty. How many died because he pointed them out?
George Soros began his career by speaking truth to power. He was an informant for the Nazis.
I’ve often wondered if Ian Fleming, the creator of James Bond, modeled Ernst Stavro Blofeld on Soros, as opposed to the common assumption that the real-life prototype was Aristotle Onassis.
