Oh man… I wish the tech had reached the point of having X-wings.. I’ve wanted one since the first movie came out. I remember sitting at the drive-in theatre and being absolutely blown away!! What a movie!! Such a masterpiece!!
I don’t claim to be an aeronautical engineer, but a quote from one is appropriate here 😉
“Given enough thrust, you can make a brick fly”
Case in point: F-104.
Star Wars and most other sci-fi ships are intended for space not atmosphere, but the x-wing does seem to have better overall aerodynamics than most and more lift area in the ‘biplane’ wings and mifght get some fuselage lift in the process. Looking at it from an appearance point of view ignoring any pesky drag coefficients, wing loads, vortex generating points or airflow turbulence, and considering the shields could be used for streamlining and airflow management, I’d think an x-wing had a better chance of atmospheric flight than a 104 😉
What we are truly missing is some kind of anti-gravitational drive with enough finesse to lift the X-Wing without accidentally throwing it into the sun. If we weren’t forced to fight gravity constantly, tackling the other aerodynamic forces would be far easier.
One has to remember that actors are hired for their ability to say absolutely anything with a straight face, or whatever face is required, not their intellectual capacity and most are just flaming idiots that can lie convincingly in front of a camera.
Whenever some hollywood maven puts on a tearful display, I just assume that since they’re trained to cry on cue and fake any emotion needed by the script, they’re playing ‘make-believe’ in the hope that someone will rub their ego or pay them for doing it.
This is why that moron moore said “democrats need to embrace Hollywood because this is where they need to come to learn how to tell a story.” All their fake outrage and outpouring of crocodile tears is just another professional performance to either gain or keep power and money.
The Star Wars franchise is pretty much dead. Woke Disney and misandrist K. Kennedy destroyed it. Same with Star Trek over at Paramount. OTOH, Budweiser seems to have learned its lesson after its Bud Light sales plummeted over its trans/woke disaster. They brought back the Clydesdales for their Superbowl spot along with a redneck bar scene.
And napoleon was a general..

..then a politician..
..then an emperor..
..then a prisoner..
We are all prisoners of our own device..’s..
I know OT again, but our old friend NYIAC who has disappeared from our midst, was the engineer of this operation which was totally fleeced and stolen by the Clinton Foundation”…

This is why they don’t want Trump and Company snooping into their evil money machine.
